I previously owned this novel of The Empire Strikes Back, but it was falling apart badly. So I just had to get a new one because I'm a fan of the original Star Wars series with Empire Strikes Back being my all time favorite.
The book is very accurate to the film, it's an easy read that being said but I love easy reads. Who doesn't? It's literally word for word right out of the film with excellent descriptive detail on the characters themselves and what they're thinking and feeling, and on the settings of the story too. I personally have always enjoyed reading this and the other books aloud. It's fun to voice the characters. For any die hard Star Wars fan out there, buy this book and the other books of the series as well. It's a blast!
These junior novelization books are -- by far -- the biggest surprise of the summer for me. My son ordinarily chooses detective-type books, or science facts and experiment-type books. But he gobbled down these novels, re-reading them many times.
This book keeps the dialog from the movies in place, but gives a little more insight into what the characters are thinking and how they make decisions. There are lessons in the book, particularly self-control.
This is a great choice. (About 175 pages)
My son suggested, "Type in "Star Wars", Dad.".
I typed "Star Wars" into the Search bar.
This book was one of many that popped up on the screen.
My son pointed to this book and said, "Ooh...that one looks cool.".
"Would you like to read it?", I asked.
"Add to cart", I clicked.
A few days later it came to my house is a brown envelope.
I handed it to my son, who said, "Cool! Thanks!", and walked off to read his new Star Wars book.
A few days later I asked him, "Hey, how's that new Star Wars book?"
"I finished it.", he said. "It was good."
"Excellent.", I said.
