As an employee and a manager, I've always thought "employee engagement" was only for Fortune 500 companies, the holy grail result of best practices. Not so, I learned, as Kruse deftly and succinctly walked me through the four "keys" foundation concepts and got me thinking about my own level of engagement with reflection activities and assessments. I was concerned about how I might even broach the subject at work, but Kruse anticipated that and provided the exact verbiage for me to use to break the ice with my boss and others (that I don't think will get me fired!).

Brief but thorough, this book never wastes time. There are many aspects of engagement within my control, and now I know what they are and what to do about it. I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of this book. It's a keeper.

I thought I'd just skim this book. But it's written in such a, to coin a phrase, engaging style, I found myself reading all of it. It's also structured in such a way as to immediately reinforce each point as it is made and to encourage the reader to really think about each point and how it relates to his own situation.

The book explains what employee engagement is and how important it is for the profitability of the company and the happiness and health of employees. The book makes it clear that good engagement is the responsibility of both the company management and the employee himself.

The book provides practical ways you can figure out what your own engagement style is and how you can work to improve your own happiness and productivity at work.

Employee Engagement for Everyone is a must-have for workplace managers and employees alike.

How can employees become more engaged? It's not just the company's "problem to solve," Kevin Kruse says in "Employee Engagement for Everyone." Instead, there are clear steps everyone - including employees themselves - can take to make work more enjoyable and fulfilling. This is a practical yet revolutionary idea that I think will prove very empowering to readers: you can make your workplace better, and you don't have to wait for anyone's permission. Employee engagement isn't something that's done to you; it's something you co-create. Whether you run a company or work for one, this book is indispensable for anyone who cares about creating a worthwhile company culture. I recommend this book highly and consider it a must-read.

This is a great book, very motivational. It tells you how leaders are meant to do the motivation in employees lives to get them to be more productive and it works. There is no "I" in Team, it starts with a great leader.

This is a great book for several reasons:
1) Most people think that employee engagement is exclusively the responsibility of the organization/supervisor. Research shows that almost half of the level of engagement comes from sources within the individual. The author shows how we can become more engaged at work.
2) Many academic books are too academic and many practitioner books are not grounded in research. Kevin Kruse successfully bridges this "great divide."
3) For those people who desire more than a token "research shows", Kruse gives provides this information in a way that is not intrusive on the reading of the book.
4) The book is very practical and provides application questions that will help a reader learn how he/she can become more engaged at work.
5) While a lot of practical business books are wordy and too long (about 100 pages too long in my opinion) Kruse takes out all of the extra fluff and provides a very readable book.

Wake up publishers! We don't have time to shift through 200 pages trying to weed out the fluff from the meat. Very few people want to eat a meat and marshmallow fluff sandwich.

Kruse has provide a health-conscious lean meat sandwich here.

There is nothing worse than dreading to go to work! This book is full of practical tips on how to deal with the negatives in the office place and ideas on what you can do to improve things. There are quizzes that help you identify what type of employee you are and what motivates you. A lot of the tips on negativity can be applied to your personal life also. It definitely opened my eyes to how I can make a difference in my own experiences at work and in my personal life.

This book had no filler. It wasn't quite like reading an outline but it was close. On the good side it was sharp and to the point. The information was priceless and the four keys rock solid. If you want a good quick read to fill you in on employee engagement... Get it.

If you are looking for a concise guide on how to engage employees, this is it. Unlike most books on employee engagement--filled with paragraph after paragraph of theory--this one goes right to the heart of the matter.
