This book explains what nobody really has especially in English or for the world in a normal language. The author is a genius in is ability to explain this topic in layman's terms. He has many layers of genius how he simply builds this critical subject for the reader.
Moving from the US, I didnt even think about Israel government anything other than ok, that's nice. But living here as a heredi I saw something different from experience than what's billed to the rest of the world. They dont like religious.
They make laws and decisions that are against the Torah. Their legislative process for "Jews" is prohibited to use Torah-based precedent, which legally sounds off especially for a "Jewish" nation.
Until now the only people to learn that from are the zeolots (kanayim) who are already sold on the message from an early age so they miss the needed steps in explaining the issue to the lay person. And if someone wants to understand then they are faced with explaining to their friend and cant without using words like Nazi's, Rashaim, Evil, and thus so many people blow it off because 'that's what the zeolots say.'
This book takes you step by step in simple language to understand with many many many sources and quotes the genesis of the problem. Quotes from Herzl, Ben Gurion many 'famous' zionists and many famous Rabbis.. He shows you both sides of the story and the author's important narrative stringing it all together with a very very difficult to argue viewpoint, again, based on quotes and facts sourced from thousands of years of sources to diverse modern sources, as needed.
If you are a Torah observant Jew I believe strongly (Im not a Rav) it's worth it to put other learning on the side until you finish this 1400 page book. Then you'll do a siyum on it. You'll be more informed than pretty much everybody around you. It's worth the time investment and very enjoyable and rewarding to take the time and invest it. You will be informed versus what everybody else claims to be informed.
You will be armed with factual information to help your friends, family and community understand the issue so as to disconnect and redirect from waving flags to saying, 'you know what, I want to follow Halacha and these guys are far from following halacha', they are trying to do away with halacha. You'll have many sources that are tough to argue.
I was already on this path before I found the book. But I didnt learn it from the zeolots because it was tough to accept their messaging nor are they generally trying to do outreach. I always thought they may have something but nobody's listening to their messaging and they are speaking in Israel where nobody's listening in the globe.
This book teaches you the issues, and how to think and speak about them. A complicated subject that can only be boiled down by a genius to simplicity, which this author does and not many that I know of did or have the ability to. Take note.
For religious who believe in learning, 'learning' means just that, learning, growing and being open especially for something like this rooted deep in sources of reputable people and sefarim (holy books) on a topic pretty central for everybody.
May H bless this author to be safe and continue to spread this message and may I and many many others follow and grow.
I believe strongly from my Torah learning before I found this book in my progression closer to H-shem (G-d) that this book's topic is probably the main single issue holding back the redemption. I have other historic religious sefarim sources that this book doesn't mention but I was gratified to find a full library broadening my knowledge and proof. Happy to see I'm not alone and it's not just an issue for kanayim (zeolots). It's important for every Jew and probably important for the world since the Zionists force themselves into the news every day.
I take notes in learning and I felt this book had several epiphanies (chidushim) per page which I did not find in other books. The kenayim know but they don't necessarily spread the gospel. They care to protect their community which already knows all this.
So the rest simply dont know and are at the mercy to be force fed Zionist-only marketing to tell you that those zeolots are extremists. But the Torah is not being an extremist. It's pretty central for 2500 years since given. That's not extreme. Zionists who broke off from the Torah are extreme and far from the Torah but are the only main voice out there telling you the Torah message is extreme?!
Plus know, that because the zeolots dont believe in technology and the internet because of the obvious risks that exist within the internet to keep purety, you wont hear them hopping on youtube telling you all this or showing you point-by-point how the Zionist messaging is off. So know that the internet has Fed you only one side of the story from people that don't believe in G-d, His Torah, Our history, etc. You don't even know that you've been downloaded by their messaging without an alternative but you have.
Rabbi Shapiro is thus moser nefesh (sacrificing himself) on the Internet and in life to give you a message that he knows is innately dangerous to give over. You'll see proofs in his book that Zionists attack and, yes have killed people that dont agree with their philosophies or move to motivate people against their philosophy. It's not like the US thinks. Israel does not believe in free speech against their ideals.
It's a sad story that the book so perfectly captures that Zionists have manufactured and successfully changed what is a Jew, that so differs from our history.
Zionism is not Judaism and Zionism is causing a ton of anti-semitism, exactly what they claim to solve, they cause.
I could keep writing and I know after I press send I'll have a million more things to say. But I'll leave you with this. However old you are, you've hopefully seen in your life that as sure as you were yesterday of everything, inevitably something can come along to adjust that. This book does that in an important way for you to benefit you in this world and the next world, in layman's terms. Enjoy.

I am frum from birth, studied at prominent chareidi yeshovos, and living a serious Kollel life for over 25 years. I was horrified and ashamed to discover how my mind and heart were complete hostages of Zionism. I was thunderstruck to learn how we have fallen victim to Zionist indoctrination. The mind reels at the realization that even the Chareidei community (from top to bottom) is drowned in open heresy and kefira (blaspheme). This malignant tumor of Zionist heresy has even corrupted the 13 principles of our community’s faith. The implications of this are staggering and frightening.
How grateful my family and I must be for the Heavenly Salvation that started on the first COVID Pesach when we began reading this masterpiece. Heartfelt appreciation to the author Rabbi Shapiro.
One item of criticism. To me, the author’s unfavorably stance towards the activism of Neturei Karta is mistaken.
In addition to this book, one is likely to profit enormously from another English book on the subject called The Transformation by Rabbi (Yerachmiel) Israel Domb, 1989. The Transformation sharply and concisely delivers the most crucial information. The book is out of print but can be downloaded in PDF format at the Torah Jews dot org website. On the home page under the pull-down menu “resources”, select “books” then choose “English Books FREE DOWNLOAD”. At that website one can find excellent reading material in Lashon Kodesh and English.

In regards to Rabbi Shapiro's work, it was a brilliant and convincing scholarly tome on religious anti-Zionism. Rabbi Shapiro left no stone unturned, and I have been trying to promote his message the best way I can to my religious community. It's such a lengthy and thought-provoking work, that I probably shouldn't get started in on it has affected me, for this review would run long ...
I will say that I wouldn't recommend the book unless the reader has a good knowledge of Judaism and of Zionism. This doesn't mean that one needs to be Orthodox. But one should be very familiar with the Torah and of the history of the Jewish people. I would read the history of Zionism, their leaders, intellectuals and their propaganda. I stress that one should reads books written and published prior to 1966. Propaganda has intensified since that period, and younger readers should understand how the "story" of Israel has changed over the years before they start arguing either the Zionist or anti-Zionist stance. Reading general history books by historians like Walter Laquer and Connor Cruise O'Brien, as well as Zionist primary sources, will prepare the reader before Rabbi Shapiro explains his case.
A special thank-you must go to the bookseller. Although I ordered this book with standard shipping, the seller was very kind to expediate my delivery time. I couldn't believe when I returned home only two days after ordering it, to find that the book was in my hands.

To Harav Reb. Yaakov Shapiro Shlit’a,
With feelings of gratitude, and recognition, we’re writing to you words of praise, in honor of your masterpiece of art combined with mere talent and clarity,: your release of the book, The Empty Wagon.
Duvid, and Me are astonished as we skim through the pages of this valuable treasure.
As much as we thought we are clear in the “Sheita “ against “The Medina Hatzionus”
we are now realizing how much we don’t know. Where Torah is studied, thereafter, “Chochma is exposed.”
And that’s what we are cherishing here. Knowledge is power, and you seem to be falling into this category very comfortably.
We’d like to tell you a bit why we so appreciate this release, and swim along easily from chapter to chapter.
My husband Duvid, was one of the baby boomers of Kiryas Yoel, since my
father-in-law was one of the first 10 pioneers at that time. He’s always talking about those glorious days, when Rabeini Yoel Z’tl would visit their cheddar, and had a shining face to see his dream come true. There wasn’t a day that the M’elamed would forget to make a statement against the “Medina Hatzionim “. Every boy, no matter the age had the concept crisp clear.
And so too was the setting in the girl’s school. The, principle would talk about it at all times, such as, at breakfast, or at lunchtime. Especially rosh chodesh, or erev yom
tov. The teachers too would clarify, and bring forth Rabeini Yoel’s Z’tl wish that every child would wait for moshiach.
What has unfortunately happened is that our children, and grandchildren today are not hearing it enough, and cannot relate to very many fundamental concepts. Therefore I am grateful to you for bringing forth this valuable book. I’m hopeful that by reading this book, my daughters will reach to the understanding levels which we got to.
May the z’chus you have, be a shining star to all your future endeavors, and may Rabeini Yoel Z’tl, be a meilitz yioshur to you at all times. May you be Zoiycha to have many happy and healthy years to come, with your family together, and see much nachos by all. Thank You D. T.
