Yes, it's a beaker. No, it's not perfect.
The plastic is flimsier than I had expected. I knew it wouldn't be glass, but I had hoped it would be both more solid and heavier.
The tapering design is great in that it makes the smaller graduations taller and easier to read. But the bottom is too narrow for many purposes, including a whisk or a stick blender.
Then there are the markings themselves. Nearly impossible to read. There's too much information, too close together, and without sufficient contrast. I suppose an opaque liquid like milk would make readings clearer. Try it with water, and you'll be baffled most of the time, particularly as the markings on the opposite side interfere with reading the markings you want. Might I suggest lightly frosting the sides? It would still be translucent enough to see the liquid level inside, but legibility would be greatly enhanced. Seems an obvious fix. Another obvious fix would have been to make the markings in a higher contrast colors, and alternate every other graduation, like red black, red black.
If anyone can recommend a similar product made of glass (Pyrex would be better), with a slightly wider bottom and legible markings, I'd be most appreciative. Right now, I'm happier with an actual laboratory beaker, except that it's only marked in metric: pretty much pointless in the kitchen.
