"Kelly Grayson captures the human condition and seamlessly weaves his considerable EMS skills with his profound understanding of exactly what it means to save a life, engage in life and make a difference in the lives of the people who need him, both patients and peoplewho learned how to be a better medic and person because of him - people like me." ~ Michael Morse, author of Rescuing Providence and Responding
From the Author
In this Author's Special Edition, I am happy to have restored the missing chapters from the Kaplan versions of this book. Looking back over the words I wrote in 2004, the temptation was great to rewrite great swathes of it. I believe I am a far more polished writer now. But ultimately, I left it unchanged; I wanted it to remain the words of a paramedic and fledgling writer simply telling his story, however unpolished and profane it may be.
Ultimately, I hope you enjoy it, raw as it is. This is an accurate chronicle of the paramedic and man I was, but not the paramedic and man I am now.
The story does not end here...
