About the Author

Livia Corona was born in Ensenada, Mexico, and began the Enanitos Toreros project while still a student at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena. Her work has appeared in publications throughout the world, including Life Magazine, T: The New York Times Magazine, Time, Newsweek, The Fader, and other periodicals. She is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including American Photography, PDN 30, Agfa International Prize for Photojournalism, and BMW Inziniere World prize for young photographers. Corona lives in New York and Mexico City.

The deeply touching photographs in Enanitos Toreros allows you to relate to these people on the fringes of society not with pity or with some kind of obligatory empathy, but with admiration. Truly inspiring!
