This is a complex story overall, and now with this additional piece of the puzzle, it makes it even more interesting.
I find it very compelling that people are manipulated without their realizing into shaping their lives in a particular way. The manipulator has to be a master puppeteer in order to affect people's lives. These are smart and brutal characters who are being driven to shape their lives and make decisions that only one person controls, without realizing what has been done to them. Out of these decisions, feuds evolve that will affect generations to come.
It's a fantastic story about love and betrayal and how one choice can change a lifetime. We see the older characters in a new light and how the consequences of their actions influence the storyline we are currently on with Nixon and Trace and the others. I love this series and devour every book. Yes, they are that good!

I wish Joyce and Luca had more time together and this makes me sad to see what they had to endure!
