Product Description

While skipping through the woods, Sarah stumbles upon Marcel and Florette working on a miniature treehouse. When Marcel and Florette leave the house, its tiny inhabitants come to life and speak to Sarah. She meets Stephan the Seedsower and Reuben the Reader who recall from the great Book of Tales how the treehouse came to be. An amazing, illustrated story unfolds as Sarah is guided through all the rooms and secret places of The Enchanted Treehouse. When the people agree to let Sarah return, they realize they may have compromised the secrecy Marcel and Florette have kept for the last one hundred years. The Enchanted Treehouse is an original, modern fairytale filled with delightful, amusing characters and the wondrous details of their miniscule kingdom. Award-winning artists Mike and Debbie Schramer created this amazing work of art from nature and also starred as Marcel and Florette. The Enchanted Treehouse is truely an architectural miniature wonder; a real masterpiece, making this DVD a must for every art collector, miniature enthusiast, naturalist and those who love fairytales. The Enchanted Treehouse was created in 1993 in Washington state where the Schramers had lived for many years. From their gardens and on many gathering walks in the forest, meadows and by the sea, Mike and Debbie foraged and found unique branches, flowers, moss, leaves, driftwood, shells, stones, pods, etc. that later became this magical house. The inner frame of the house was created from a 50-year old wysteria tree that was sadly being removed from a park, it's wild, overgrown branches covering a building. Mike and Debbie were humbled to be able to use this beautiful tree to create their intricate forest dwelling, immortalizing the wysteria vines into a work of art. The Schramers unusual art pieces have been exhibited and sold in many shops, galleries and museums all over the U.S. and several other countries. They first received international recognition from an article in Victoria magazine in February 1991 which catapulted their creativity into an amazing and exciting adventure. Later, The Enchanted Treehouse was exhibited at The American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland and was chosen as the fourth favorite work of art out of the 400 art works in the museum's inaugural exhibit The Tree of Life. The Schramers now live in Salt Lake City and continue to create amazing and wondrous works of art which can be found on their websites.

It was so great seeing the treehouse again. We had the joy of seeing it in person at AVAM many years ago. Your story was very sweet as well-- my kids liked it very much. Thanks so much! --Dawn
