The songwriting is very strong and the songs are interesting based on the merits of the song, not how many unexpected changes they can throw at you. While it's got a few songs on the album that don't quite grab a hold of you like some of the stronger pieces do, there are no tracks that make me want to fast-forward to the next one. If I had to classify the group's genre, I suppose I'd call them a progressive-light, classic rock with just enough creativity and change up in their sound to make it difficult to stick them in a single genre. Heck, they manage to sound like everyone from the Beatles to Coheed and Cambria to 90's metal acts and everything in between.
This is a very good album, some of which takes a few listens to get into, other songs are immediately enjoyable. Highly recommended to all unless you're looking for Nu-Metal/Death Metal. While there's plenty of good rock, none of it has the aggressive edge or vocals that's found in much of today's heavier metal.
This album definitely captures the intensity and uniqueness that I saw on stage. Every song on this album is good.
Highly suggest it for the prog/metal fan looking for something new.

I first heard 'All That Remains' from Three and decided to check out out the rest of the album. I'm glad I did, it's a great album and I enjoyed the songs.Published on January 22, 2013 by Totetsu
Progressively melodic metal can't quite get past sounding like Coheed and Cambria's older brother to really matter.Published on March 31, 2010 by IRate
