I gave Born Sinner 4.5 stars when I read it last year. I'm giving End of Eden 5 stars. Why? Because it's even better than the first.
EoE picks up right where BS left off, which is awesome because I didn't have to try to remember what had happened. As soon as I read the first few words, I was right there with them again. I'm not a rereader, so this was incredibly helpful for me.
There's honestly not much I can say without giving away the story. Eden is still tough as nails. Still tortured and full of secrets and sin.
Legion is...ugh, he's just delectable. He's the hottest fallen angel/demon I've ever read about. He's still determined to save Eden at any cost.
And the connection they have? Steamy. As. Hell.
What I loved most was the way Jennings was able to show us what Eden is experiencing. She paints hell in a way that makes you want to dabble in evil, just so you can get a glimpse of its beauty. Just a little taste of what it would be like to dine with the Devil himself.
And Lucifer? Oh I hated Lucifer in BS. But for a minute in EoE, I may not have hated him as much.
Also, loved Nikolai. I definitely need to read the Dark Light series after meeting him in EoE. He's my kind of man. Stunning and sarcastic. What more could you want?
There's so much angst and so many twists. A lot of "damn it" and "oh my god" came out of my mouth while I read. But I couldn't stop. Aside from having to do the mom thing, I kept my eyes glued to the screen. I had to know how it would end, but I really didn't want it to end.
I am now going to be impatiently waiting for book 3. This series just keeps getting better and better. I'm stupid excited for the continuation.
End of Eden is a continuation of Born Sinners and picks up right where we left off. There was more than one surprise in this book that is for sure!! POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD SO PLEASE STOP IF YOU HAVEN'T READ BORN SINNERS. Ok... now the disclaimer is out of the way. Eden finds herself face to face with the devil himself, Lucifer. What I was shocked and amazed is how SL Jennings showed us a side of him that had me questioning my own sanity. Did I feel sorry for Lucifer?? Did I want Lucifer to be happy??? Was I sitting here thinking what the hell is wrong with me!!!??? HELL YES!! I so was not expecting this and side of him and even though he is evil there's a method to the madness. He will do what he can to protect the one he loves. This side of him and his loyalty was unexpected.
Eden is still conflicted with her feelings with Legion. Add in her mixed emotions with Lucifer and her world has been turned upside down. In the back of her mind she is always questioning if Legion loves her for who she is, not who has claimed her. Self doubt is an awful monster that will cause her to question everything and loyalties will be tested. A new player will come into play and an appearance of an old friend had my heart melting. In the end I was wanting to chuck my kindle, slap a character or two and I was left thinking OH.MY.GOD!!!! What is going to happen next!!! I'm giddy with excitement for what's to come!! This was another HUGE 5 star read for me!! This series is a MUST READ!! Loved every second of it!!
WHICH brings us to EoE. Holy smokes!!! I am a fiend and need more ASAP. It starts off right where Born Sinner left off and you are shown a, should I say, softer side of Lucifer. I know I know... there are no soft sides to him but guys!!!! It is impossible for one not to lust for him. I seriously believe he loves Eden... truly loves her! We also get to see a bit more of Cain as well and I seriously hope he gets his own book! Lilith is still there, that B... but whatever! it is all about L vs L for Eden. I can't tell you enough how this will be one of your fave reads for 2017!
Even when I think S.L. Jennings has ended a story, I am wrong. She is a master stoking the fire and keeping it burning. She makes me look forward to getting burned by my next encounter with her exceptionally hot characters and their twisted stories. She makes bad look good and proves there is only the thinnest of threads separating the two.
I enjoyed every moment I spent reading this book. I was never bored , nor did I find myself thinking,"I've read this before." End Of Eden was filled with surprises and action that kept me riveted.
I know I will revisit Eden, L, and company before the next book drops; not because I don't remember the details, those are burned in my mind. But, because I want to relive the all the toxic and thrilling moments that lead up to the next part of this story.
