Product Description

Avery's brand new album, End Of Five, is his sixth recording and his most anticipated to date. Soul Tracks lists End Of Five as one of ...the most notable upcoming CD releases in the Soul Music world. It is a new venture for this independent Gospel artist, because Avery has chosen to categorize the album as a R&B/Gospel album. The first single Everyday was released in the UK in July 2010 and was featured by Landmark Theatres in their Pre-Movie segment. EO5 was produced by saxophonist Eddie M. (Sheila E., Prince, and many others) and Gospel music legend Jon Gibson (9 Number 1 Hits, 22 Top Five Hits, CCM Magazine Album of the Year). World-wide release date is April 8, 2012 and will be distributed by The Orchard. Stafford is a two-time nominee for the 2006 Los Angeles International Music Awards. He is the March 2007 Winner and the December 2007 Runner Up (Christian category) in the Song of the Year International Songwriting Competition, sponsoring VH-1 Save The Music. He is also the 2008 Pure Gospo Awards Best Solo Artist. In 2009, Avery received an Honorable Mention in the prestigious Billboard World Song Contest. He is endorsed by Audix Microphones and Spectraflex Cables. A native Californian, Worship Pastor Avery Stafford has recorded six albums since breaking into the music scene; with R&B, Gospel, and Contemporary Urban flavors. He was a two-time nominee for the 2006 Los Angeles Music Awards. He is currently ranked #4 in the R&B/Soul category on ReverbNation. He is also ranked #10 in the R&B category on IndieCharts.com. His previous independent album entitled Undignified, was reviewed as being the most innovative vocal performance since Marvin Gaye s 'What s Going On record.

I listened to the End Of Five and it touched me. I didn't know what to expect except Avery's love for Jesus would show through. This man LOVES Jesus and it shines through like a carbon-arc searchlight.

As a long-time professional musician, I am thoroughly impressed with this album. Aside from being a splendidly mixed, totally professional product, I love the way the melodies seem like they are woven into the cloth that contains the lyrics. They are inseparable.

I picked two songs, not because they are my favorites (as each of the tracks on this album stand equally, but different and distinct plus I am biased toward the tracks with horns) but on how they touched me and surprised me.

If You Had To Love You is a statement I wouldn't want to complete. After all, who wants to love a broken human being like me? Avery completes it where others like me didn't want to tread before realizing Jesus is the one who wants to love us. Once loved in this fashion, you just want to show others that they too are loved.

Heartbeat In The Night touched a spot deep in my gut - deep down there where your most hidden fears hide during the day and emerge in the darkness of night to trouble you.
I remember all too clearly how it is to toss and turn with worries and fears: your heart pounding its way out of your chest and you feel like it's going to burst and you'll die.
That was before I was re-introduced to Jesus. Jesus replaced that gut wrenching emptiness with a calm, steady, strong heartbeat. Heartbeat In The Night perfectly describes how my very existence depends on Jesus.

A word of warning when you listen to The End Of Five: Be prepared to be touched - and touched again.

It's clear that Avery loves Jesus. Not just a little bit, not just in an academic, churchy, dry sense. They've met. They go on long walks and share deep soul-stuff.

In End of Five, Avery invites you to the party.

As I listened to this album I kept being struck by the space in it. I felt like there was room for me to join in, emotionally and musically. The songs are inviting and open, encouraging you to not just sing along, but to add your own part. Harmonize, sing counterpoint, smack out a rhythm on the steering wheel. There's just space in the music for you to be a part of what's going on.

There's also lyrically space for you to explore what it means to love Jesus. Not in a closed, restrictive sense, but in a very open, welcoming way.

I heard echoes of Take 6, Bebe King, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and even a hint of "More than Words" from the Extremes. Avery's not copying these other artists, but making space for them too. It's a collaborative work that brings styles and genres together into a result that is uniquely Avery, but still points back to the musical influences that have shaped him.

If you want an album that will invite you to join in, fill the space and be a part of the music, then you can't go wrong with End of Five.

End Of Five is an album that hooks you from the opening bar and carries you through to the last note. The blend of R&B, Soul, Jazz and Pop makes this album a music lover's paradise. Avery's an amazing lyricist, a phenomenal composer and has a voice of liquid gold wrapped up in velvet...but most importantly he has a heart for God. Using his fresh, fun and engaging music; his encouraging, honest and enlightening lyrics to bring glory to God and point others to the Father, Avery has created an album that will keep your head bobbing and your feet tapping. From the fun rhythms of "Bounce" to the thought provoking lyrics of "If You Had to Love You" this album is definitely rising rapidly through the ranks on the "most played" list on my iPod. I can't recommend this album enough!!!

Avery brings us back to the way music use to be. I love his recent album. It's soulful and has that sweet R&B traditional rhythm. I love to listen to this music towards the evening. It has the perfect tunes for a quiet time to either just relax, read, or listen to while driving. The lyrics are powerful and catchy. Wonderful worship music :-) He shares a message all the way through. I definitely recommend this CD to R&B/Soul lovers, Christians or non alike. The songs are catchy and very enjoyable :-)
