End Game really is an apt title for this book! Everything that has happened in the first 3 books has been leading up to this point, and all Shane's plans are on the verge of being realized. But there are a few wild cards that can still throw a wrench in the works including Shane's parents and Martina. Then add in the possibility of Emily's past rearing its ugly head and he more than has his hands full. But through it all, he is certain of two things: he wants Emily in his future for the long haul, and he will do whatever it takes to ensure her safety.
And therein lies the major struggle Shane and Emily must resolve if they are ever to have any peace. He is quick to ensure Emily is not blaming herself for things out of her control, but he sees himself as his father's son. He doesn't like the parallels Martina tries to draw between them because they hit a little too close to home, but Emily has to remind Shane that his actions are always guided by a moral compass- unlike either his father or the cartel leader- no matter how extreme those actions may be.
The author did a wonderful job of weaving us through multiple twists and turns as she tied up loose ends in a fast-paced narrative from start to finish. Of course there is plenty of sizzle jumping off the pages too! I really enjoyed this couple's journey and transformation, and I am sad to see their story come to a close. So I guess it's a good thing the author left the door open to seeing more of them in the future! Seth's story is coming next which is sure to have a glimpse of this couple, and I am seriously rooting for Shane's assistant Jessica to get her own turn in the spotlight with a certain sexy bodyguard.
End Game is the finale of Shane and Emily's story and picks up right where Bad Deeds ends, with lots of blood, and two lives at stake!
After the ending of Bad Deeds I was on pins and needles waiting for this book to release, I needed to know what was going to happen to Emily and Derek, who would survive, what would happen to Brandon Enterprise, and would Derek ever really get rid of the cartel? All of these questions are answered, some quicker than others in this book, but trust me, you will get all of the answers you have been waiting for since Hard Rules released some time ago.
This book is told in two parts, the first part is told in Shane's point of view and is more tragic, sad, and reflective. We really get to see inside of Shane's head in this part of the book and see him struggle with so many things. We see him go into some dark places as well as see how his brain really works. I enjoyed seeing him work through things, and come to peace with how things had gone down as well as how things were going. I hated seeing him struggle with some things and my heart broke for him over and over in this part of the book, but I understood the pain he was going through, and I think anyone in his spot would have felt the same way as him.
The second part of the book is a much happier and lighter part of the book, but still has some dark undertones, but we do get to see Shane and Emily finally start to dig out from under everything they have been going through for so long and start to move forward. They still have so far to go, but seeing them start to move forward and not looking back was amazing. I did enjoy this part of the book but I wished it would have been longer and that it wouldn't have ended so soon. This is the part of the the series I, and I think all readers of the series, have been waiting for, for so long and it was just over too soon for me. I did love how things ended jp for Emily and Shane, but I needed MORE!
This was an amazing ending to the Dirty Money Series, and everything was tied up in a pretty little bow, but as a reader I want more Shane and Emily. I am so excited that we will be getting Seth's story and I hope one day we will get Jessica's and maybe a novella or a continuation of Shane and Emily as well. Lisa Renee Jones did an amazing job in this series and telling the story of a power struggle of all power struggles withing a corrupt family and a lost girl who found love when she least expected it. This is a series everyone should read, and I highly recommend it!
End Game start with a bang after heart stopping cliff-hanger of book three. It was so realistic it was easy to transport myself right to the scene. My heart was pounding!!!
Shane and Emily truly have grown as people and as a couple throughout this series. They've gotten lost, losing their identity, then realizing who they truly are. This moment is beautiful and romantic and perfect, and happens in spite of the awful people in their lives. Real friends are realized and these friends see them through not just the many awful times, but more importantly, the amazing times.
I was so absorbed in the HEA moments that the ending crept up on me! I kept turning the pages want more, because I love this couple. They are each other's best friend, lover and future.

Emily and Shane both need time to process and recover from the trauma, especially after Emily being in a Coma. This book is non-stop action all the way through, I was on the edge of my seat all, as Shane puts his plans into action. As always it is the people and their relationships are at the center of Lisa’s books.
Shane is in a bad place, but Emily works with him towards their Happily Ever After. This is an excellent finish to such a high octane series.
Love Lisa and will 1 click anything she writes.
Thanks Lisa for yet another great read.
