From the Author
A Q + A with Erin Giles - Business Philanthropy Coach + Editor of End Sex Trafficking
Question- Erin, what spurred you to start End Sex Trafficking Day?
Answer- I saw an amazing documentary about global sex trafficking that woke me up to the 27 million people who are enslaved today and I knew donating a few bucks wasn't enough. I remembered what Michael Bungay Stanier did with End Malaria Day and I knew I wanted to do something similar. I invited 60 amazing writers and entrepreneurs and then set out to raise 10k in 29 days so that the book could be published...and here it is.
Question- Is End Sex Trafficking Day going to happen every year or is this a one time thing only?
Answer- I plan on spear heading a creative collaboration each year, for at least the next three years, with the proceeds going to a different charity that is fighting for those enslaved in sex trafficking.
Question- How much money goes to the Not For Sale Campaign with each book sold?
Answer- With each paperback purchase $8.26 will go to the Not For Sale Campaign, which is what I would get if I were getting the authors proceeds, after printing costs and the Amazon wholesale discount.
About the Author
Erin started as an entrepreneur by selling friendship bracelets in her elementary school hallway after recess, she walked out after her first shift as a server at a country club and produced the Rock the Runway fashion show in graduate school.
"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." - Mahatma Gandhi
She "lost" herself in End Sex Trafficking Day and is now finding herself teaching other female entrepreneurs how to build a big philanthropic give into their business model. She blogs weekly, contributes to Huffington Post, has a podcast called Doing Good Business FM and gets to do it all while being at home as a stay at home mama in South Carolina.

It's a way to engage your heart, mind and wallet against the crime of sex trafficking. All the profit - more than $8 from each book - goes to support the Not for Sale campaign that works against the crime of sex trafficking. And as a bonus, you get this book with 60 essays from smart people. They're clustered under three headings - Love, Freedom and Knowledge. As you'd expect, some of the essays strike a chord and others don't quite as much but that's not so much a reflection of the quality of the work, just what I'm most interested in right now.
This is a book that you can dip into and out of and collect insight and wisdom. And all while knowing you've done a little good in the world.
The advice in this book is the amassed collective wisdom of 60 of the most generous, thoughtful, and mindful folks around on the topics of love, freedom, and knowledge. Heavy hitters include Seth Godin, Erika Napoletano, Amy Cosper, Danielle LaPorte, Ash Ambirge, Leo Babauta, and - yours truly, some guy named Nick Armstrong.
Read it. Show it off. Make Ending Sex Trafficking a reality - make it a goal that's impossible to ignore.
