Lisa Matthews lives in London with her boyfriend Mark, a controlling and abusive monster. She has starved herself to a size zero and walked away from her dream of painting to keep him happy and satisfied. Unfortunately, nothing she does is good enough and she is looking for a way out. Especially after he dresses her up and brings her to a dinner party with Grayson and Isabel where, unknown to her, she is dessert.
When she meets Grayson, she is immediately intrigued by him. After their first encounter, she feels a connection to him and feels safe. Grayson feels it too, he also figures out Lisa and Mark's relationship is anything but healthy.
Lisa has a plan to get away from Mark, the sooner the better. She's been squirreling away money, but still has a long way to go. That is until Mark has to go out of town for a week on business and she hatches a crazy plan involving Grayson.
I loved this book! I loved until the very end... The ending killed me! I became so attached to these characters and I wanted their story to go a certain way, but in the end it just was too up in the air for me. I really wanted more closure.
It looks like this is her first book, and if this is the case... Awesome job!!! I can't wait to read more from this author!! Maybe a follow up to The Endgame (hint hint) ;)
Let me start out by saying how much I despised Mark. He made her starve herself to stay at a size 0, and I thought my head was going to explode. The character development is good, with a well written story line that flowed smoothly. Cleary James had my attention from the beginning, and I didn't put it down until the end. The sexy scenes are freakin SCORCHIN HOT, and I was cheering for Grayson and Lisa. My one issue is the ending, it felt too quick, and I still have many questions. Overall, The Endgame is a fast paced, sexy read that I happily recommend.
The end of the book can be taken as an opening for another book or we can see it as the end. I am not a fan of cliffhanger but this didn't feel like one to me, yes i would love a second book but if it doesn't happen I would be happy either way.
