These batteries get high mark's in reviews and use and why I purchased them. I am also getting great use between charges in several rc transmitters, which they were specifically purchased for. They seem about equal to the AA Ladda's/IKEA's brand in holding a charge static and in use. Both these batteries do state on packaging and batteries, made in Japan and Eneloop being made by Panasonic. These are not cheaply priced batteries but do have a great shelf life, can be used out of the package and great in use as mentioned. Of note: if used in an item with a battery guage or indicator, NiMH batteries being 1.2 volts will not show 100% in the guage as they are not 1.5 volts but will work just the same in most applications. I would highly recommend these and will probably try their pros later on.

This is why I gave the batteries 4 stars instead of 5 stars. - When I first received the batteries I was dismayed to find that one of the 8 batteries did not take a full charge. Several other reviewers on Amazon found one or two similarly "defective" batteries. However, I have a PowerEx multi-function battery charger, and after running the "defective" battery in the refresh and analyze mode, in which the battery is charged and fully discharged several time, the battery performed perfectly and took a full charge.

As for battery life. I use them in a flashlight and have to recharge them every two weeks, even though I do not use the flashlight for more than a few minutes at a time. That said, fresh non-rechargeable alkaline batteries last only 3 weeks in the same flashlight, so I am happy I have the rechargeable batteries.
