I give Enemy Front four stars despite what all the critics say out there.

First of all, and this is ignored by everyone, this is the FIRST WWII FPS game set in Poland and it was highly overdue. Poland saw some of the worst atrocities of the war (Auschwitz but in Polish it is Oaewiêcim), they had the largest resistance movement in WWII, and lost 1/5 of her entire population (more than any other country). The Warsaw Uprising was one of the biggest shocks to Hitler and, as a result, the city was literally leveled and 20k resistance fighters were killed along with 200k civilians (most from German mass executions). My grandmother fought with the resistance during the war and the sacrifice of everyday civilians is awe inspiring. I am a combat veteran and that was hard enough but these were untrained civilians taking on the power horse of the world. What makes the Warsaw Uprising story even sadder is that the Red Army sat on the other side of the River Vistula and allowed all this to happen because they did not want to have to contend with a free Poland.

Second, and also ignored, is that many missions take place in historic and iconic places in Warsaw. The sewers the partisans use as their headquarters looks like the developers went to the Home Army/Warsaw Uprising Museum and brought it home to us. The most impressive is the level where you defend the Holy Cross Church ( Koaeció³ aewiêtokrzyski). The accuracy in the interior design was amazing (the alter was unbelievably accurate) and I felt like I was back in Poland. If you go to the front of the church you will find the iconic statue, "Christ Bearing His Cross," and even more impressive is what you find on Ulica (street) wiêtokrzyska.

I rarely review a game but feel that this game is being un-fairly reviewed by most so I have to put my two cents worth in for what it's worth.
Almost gave this a 4 instead of the 5 because I couldn't save when I wanted to but it was so much fun that I didn't have the heart to down grade it. Playing games like Oblivion and Skyrim have me spoiled in this respect. Those who rate it low claiming it too short are obviously of the Run And Gun type player. If you play as a sniper type game should be played it will be about a 30 hour fun game. If you like to play like the You tube walkthroughs do, Jump constantly and always on the run to see how fast you can knock it out so you can complain about how short it is then this is not for you. However if you like a good STEALTH sniper game like I do you will love it.

This game isn't going to change gaming and a bit of a throwback. Don't get me wrong, it's graphics are fine, I've seen no real glitches yet and plays smoothly. Except the melee is really week, they just sort of fall down.

So, I'm getting really bored with all the futuristic war shooters. I love WWII games, so if you played Call of Duty and wish it was WWII, this will get you by for a while. At least they were smart and didn't put the price point at $59.

Oh, and it's actually kind of hard — and the saves are pretty far between.

First off, this is a budget title priced at $39.99, so it came out to $31.99 + tax for me at BB since I belong to Gamers Club ($13.xx after reward certs), and for its budget price I'm pretty happy with Enemy Front. It's a game that has stealth, run & gun, and some nice sniping mechanics, and you can use these whenever you want and aren't forced to do one over the other, so that makes this game offer some nice variety to enemy encounters that other first-person shooters don't have. In addition, environments are very large and open, allowing for experimentation.

Enemy Front is also a WWII-era game, which there aren't many of these days. Instead of offering a lot of drab colors, this is a game full of brightly colored environments that are very pleasing to look at. That said, the graphics range from mediocre-good. Sometimes the game can look beautiful, but other times the game can look messy with poorly textured objects, pop-in, and other strange graphical glitches.

Since I mentioned the graphical glitches above, let me go into further detail on that since I find it to be one of this game's biggest downfalls. To be quite frank, there are a lot of oddities with graphical glitches in this game. For example, I was in the top floor of a house, there was a fire on an object across the street, but if I moved to the window in the top floor of the house and got in the right position, the fire would actually be on the window frame of the house that I was standing in. This is just one of many graphical glitches I've noticed. There's also something always on the bottom of the game's UI that makes it look like burn-in on your TV.

As for story, it's overall enjoyable, but voice acting can be cheesy at times.

Why this game got bad reviews is beyond me! The graphics are great and comparable to Sniper Elite V2. The campaign single player story is very long and challenging with variable paths that you can undertake. It is unfortunate that I cannot find anyone to play with on multi-player, however. Thanks to all the people who gave this a bad review and chased others away. The multi-player maps are even better quality and varied.
I hope that more people try it and see how good it really is.
