Editorial Reviews

Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of 1974 albums from the British Boogie/Rock 'n' Roll band. Energized was produced by Tom Dawes and features the concert favorites 'Honey Hush' and 'Home in My Hand', as well as an highly-charged version of Buddy Holly's 'That'll Be the Day'. Rock And Roll Outlaws was produced by Nick Jameson, who joined the band on bass. As the band toured incessantly, 'Eight Days on the Road' became another live staple. The package contains all the lyrics and brand new extensive notes by Bearsville Records expert Paul Myers. Edsel.

If you don't have this cd it's worth it. This doesn't sound remastered and doesn't say anywhere that it is in the booklet. it's alittle brighter than the 1999 Castle music mix, but not much. The Castle mix has alittle more low end. Nice package. Track 10 Hate to see you go, is missing the first part of the song. THAT SUCKS. Don't know how they can miss the beginning of a song. Hope this helps.

Like the other 'Edsel' Foghat double and triple album releases, it is described in the description as being remastered. I compare it with the original releases and it is no different at all. I am not thrilled with sound but price was good. These are simply copied from the 'Rhino' releases years ago. If you have the earlier releases, save your money.

Both albums from my early days. Energized from high school, and R&ROL from my earliest married years. Both have Foghat the way I liked them. Loud, bluesy, but able to drop gears and get quiet and soulful in the matter of seconds. What a shame Rod and Dave are gone. Man, I feel old! (oh, yeah... I AM old! :)

I first heard these albums when they were initially released. "Energized"floored me. Lonesome Dave's incredible vocals and tight rhythms plus Rod the Bottles flawless leads,be they his slick riffing or his screaming slide work gave me such a rush I'm still to this. Add to the package "Rock and Roll Outlaws"and the next hour and change should tell that Foghat was one of the premier rock headliners of that day.ENJOY!!!

These albums hold up better than I thought since I haven't heard them since I had them back on vinyl back in the 70's.
