Worked well for 2 months, not so much anymore

As many other reviewers have stated, the system works great for about 2 months. The batteries hold a good charge so no complaint there. The problem is that now I have to spend about 5 minutes trying to get the controller to sit in the cradle in just the perfect way to make a good connection. If you don't get it "just right", the charging lights won't light at all or they will be flashing. In either case, unless the light is solid red, it's not charging. There have been other times where I thought the controller was charging properly (solid red light), but only to come back later and find the charging light flashing. I'm about ready to get rid of it, which is frustrating because the batteries are fine - it's just the docking station that has a problem.

Batteries are great, station however has some issues

This is a review for the standard xbox one charging station. I have owned this for over year. The batteries work very well, hold a good charge that seems to last a good long while (I go several nights of multi-hour game sessions before needing to recharge).

However I have to take special care on how I put the controller on the station. About half the time I put in the controllers they charging light will flash red and the controllers will not charge. I then have to move the controller around a bit (I'm guessing the make a better connection) to get the light to stop flashing. On rare occasions (or if my kid does it) we have found ourselves with controller, while sitting in the station overnight, not getting charged because it was not sitting in the station properly. I keep the station low to the ground and in a cabinet so maybe it has something to do with the angle I am approaching it at, but regardless this should not be an issue.

So 2 stars off for that. The batteries themselves are top notch and I would recommend this item with the disclaimer of the one issue.

A Must Have and Impressive Battery Life

I was pleasantly surprised by these. Having come from owning a PS4 prior (which comes with a rechargeable battery in the controller out of the box) I always thought of XBox controllers and needing separate/3rd party rechargeable batteries as kind of cheesy/low quality.

Let me tell you, its the other way around. PS4 controllers have notoriously poor battery life. They dont hold a charge well when being idle and in use they deplete in just a few hours.

So on to the actual review...

Using Xbox one X (XB1X) with 2 standard Microsoft black XB1X controllers

Pros:
- Doesn't take up a USB port on the XB1X
- Charges quickly (0-100% roughly 2-3 hours)
- Doors provided work and do not add any extra bulk to the controller
- Impressive battery life! I got roughly 20-30 hours of game play spread over a 2-3 week period off a single charge.
- Can replace the battery instead of whole controller if a battery stops holding a charge

Cons (Have to really put effort into finding any):
- Controllers do not snap or anchor into the base, so if in an area they may get bumped into they could fall off stand.
- Wall wart (AC Charger) could have been less wide

I do not have an Elite controller to confirm compatibility however my box clearly states that it is compatible. My package came with 2x black doors and 2x white doors. Not sure if this is just aesthetics for those with different color controllers. I used the black doors on my 2x standard controllers.

I was not expecting these to have the kind of battery life they have had so far. Its possible over time they will stop holding a charge as well, but even if I have to replace the batteries every 1-2 years its well worth it. If they start showing significantly lower battery life in the near future, Id have to change my review but so far if they stay at the current level I am getting more than I thought I would.

I would highly recommend these batteries/charger for any XB1 user.

Worked great...not so much now

It's been a little over a month since I wrote my initial review. The charger is beginning to have trouble when placing the controller on the dock. It takes a little bit of wiggling to get the red light to come on to let you know that the controller is charging, and in some instances the light just flashes. I have even had to prop something under the controller so that it will set properly in the dock. The dock has not been moved or manhandled in any way, but being a bit flimsy I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Still charges fine, but a bit of a hassle to get it in the right position. Doubt I will buy this again when I choose to replace it.

Initial review:

Been using this charger for about 3 months and so far so good. The stand is a little flimsy, and not entirely stable - small bump could send it toppling, but it does the job. Charger came with 2 rechargeable battery packs and battery covers (because the covers that come on the controllers won't fit over the new batteries). Green light lets you know the controller is completely charged, red means it needs more time.
We game regularly and for long hours, and batteries last a long time between charges.

AMAZING CHARGING STATION

I recently bought another branded charging station earlier this month on Amazon.. I won't name the brand of that charging station because I already left a bad review and recommended 'PDP Energizer Charging Station' instead.. It would have been overkill to bring up the name of that terrible charging station in this review.

My only minor complaint about this charging station is that there isn't any proper instruction on installing the battery pack... It's a bit of a guessing game.

The first battery pack I installed correctly, but the second battery pack I installed backwards, and I couldn't fit the back piece (cover) that snaps to the back of the controller, I didn't want to force it and have it snap..

I figured it out though... There's a tiny little plus/minus sign printed on the battery pack, just match it up with your controllers plus/minus sign and the back piece (cover) will then fit.

A+ A+ A+ A+ Charging Station.. Definitely recommend it...

If like myself you own an elite controller and are left scratching your head as tp why we didn't receive rechargeable batteries with a 150 pound controller you will be happy to know that this will fill that void. It says no where on the description that this will fit but I have tried so called elite controller chargers without much joy, battery life on other products are using inferior lithium cells that won't hold charge for long periods of time. Also the other devices want you to keep opening the controller to remove the battery pack or keep plugging a cable in the controller and if you have a wired headset your friends will moan about the buzzing feedback caused by the charger. Well the beauty of this is the cradle/dock allows for charging without the controller needing to be opened. I also own one of these for my downstairs xbox one and the battery packs still hold a decent charge nearly two years on so longevity is not an issue either. I also like the fact that when no controllers are on the dock that the leds turn off completely which is a nice touch. In short if you have an elite pad or you just want your controller batteries to last a long session get this as soon as possible and just enjoy gaming without worrying about your battery levels.

Really nice bit of kit! I was originally going to buy a cheaper brand but then I spotted this. Bigger mAh on battery give longer life plus Energizer brand is rock solid. With the recent spate of exploding batteries in the news this purchase really was a no brainier for me. Looks great next to my Xbox. Both controllers sit in the charger really neatly so I know exactly where they are as the kids even put them a way! All in all, I'm really glad I spent a little bit more. Not happy that as a mains powered product (which is fine), it comes with a 2-pin shaver style plug! So if you are in the UK you will need to order a mains plug shaver adaptor which seems a poor but necessary requirement to actually use the charger!!

As it happens I already had one for my shaver and can confirm the product itself is great, just a shame about the aforementioned problem...

I used the white Xbox 360 charge stand with the last generation and was looking forward to getting hold of this to complete my entertainment centre. I like the convenience of being able to put controllers in a tidy place and being able to charge at the same time is great.

A few things to note is that you have to use the supplied batteries this time around but this is down to Microsoft altering how the charge input works with Xbox One controllers and when the controllers are on the stand the indicator lights remain on with no option to dim or disable them.

A great product and I'm glad I waited for it.
