From the Inside Flap
What is the single most important factor that distinguishes the great leaders from the rest? Which personal quality is most likely to inspire confidence in customers, respect among colleagues, and loyalty from employees? Which aspect of your leadership style should you focus on to put your performance, your career, and your life on the fast track to success?
The answer to all of these questions is a single word: Energy. But, you need to know how to control energy to make it work for, not against, you.
In Energy Leadership, renowned coach Bruce D Schneider shows you why the way you use your energy will determine whether or not your organization thrives. He helps you become more aware of your personal power, both in the workplace and in the world at large. And, he shows you how to become a powerful leader, one who motivates others to reach their true potential.
Following the Energy Leadership program, you'll learn how to recognize the seven distinct levels of energy that are the key to understanding why everyone thinks and acts the way they do. You'll learn how to distinguish truly effective leaders from those who deplete the energy of the people around them and specific techniques you can use to shift the energy levels of the people around you to inspire peak performance.
You'll also become familiar with the Big Four Energy Blocks, learn how to recognize them in yourself and others, and discover proven tools and strategies for overcoming these and other obstacles to success.
If you always try to inspire others but sometimes feel like something's missing, something is. Energy Leadership puts you in touch with the missing link between your ambitions and your ability to achieve them.

The Power of Full Engagement by Loehr and Schwartz
The Way We Are Working Isn't Working
They both deal with the realities of energy with a wholly superior research basis.
Look at my reviews - I read a lot of business books and this one is really just off the mark.
Nothing against business fables either - try anything by Patrick Lencioni where the story is actually compelling and the information much more useful. Sorry to leave such a negative review, I had high hopes for the book but in a busy world, don't try to be Charles Dickens, just give the information.
I was also lost once he started to explain levels 6-7. It didn’t make any sense and I felt the story was conveniently positive. Like it was as fake or made up. Who knows how well these concepts work until I start the iPEC program. I’ll leave an updated review once I start.
The business described in the book and the people who work there can also be seen as metaphor for an individual life. Reading it was transforming for me. Talk about connection! A total stranger had walked beside me on my journey! Not on the same path exactly, everyone's journey is different, but close enough so that I know that he knows the way.
I recommend highly it to anyone asking the questions "Who am I?" and "What is my purpose?" I seldom read books twice, but I'm working on my 3rd time through this one.
