This book is a quick read but full of good energy and information. I think the appeal of this book is that it is so short, it's full of humor, and it points out a lot of the inconsistencies in nutrition. He refers to Gary Taubes for research, which is always a win. The other thing I liked is that it's about feeling good and getting to a healthy weight. It's not about becoming a supermodel overnight. It's about reclaiming who we are and being better than ever.

Keto and low-carb living for the win!

Bock has a very amusing style. Having lost about 65 pounds over 3 years from age 58-61 I would have enjoyed some of his "tips". Highly recommended!!!

This book is a short book but I liked that about it. It's one that you can get valuable information from and not spend weeks reading. I did enjoy knowing what I was already incorporating into my diet was either good...or bad so that I can make some modifications for the better. Thanks for the job well done!

A great balance of humor and fact that gives a good feel for what it's like to eat this way. The only thing I disagree with is weighing every day. I like to have a "reward" of seeing a difference every week.

Very pleasant read. It made me laugh. Reading this book just made me realize that my weight loss goal should not be a struggle. He gives very simple advice that makes you wonder "why didn't I think of that". Great motivating book! Now I'm eager to change my life! Thank you Alton Bock!

First of all, I'm not and was never overweight, my work and interests are in health, nutrition and exercise.

As a medical professional and former professional athlete, I've seen, tinkered with and researched the science for 30 years. Alton Bock does a fine job of distilling a complex subject into digestible and humorous bites size pieces. Being a scientist requires a healthy does of skepticism, and often results in an entrenched cynicism related to "diet." That accurately describes my attitude and approach.

The average reader may have an initial disbelief as they read this short paper, but the research is clear. Eat less sugars and starches (especially anything refined, i.e. not part of a fruit or vegetable) and more (quality) fats. Read Bock's pith paper and then dig into Timothy Noakes work if you want more information.

I appreciated the author's wit and his ability to laugh at himself. This was a fast paced book with information to keep in mind while trying to get on the road for good health. Most of all, I liked the fact that the author shared his experiences in a way that was not preachy, but was honest and motivational.

this is my 2nd keto diet book. dont expect more than the basics of the keto diet and for anyone starting the diet be aware of 'keto flu' (mentioned in book) it kicked my butt first time around and caused me to go back to my bad habits i am motivated again after reading this book.
