The advice is broken down into easy-to-understand pieces and the author uses many examples from her own life. The recommendations have a high-quality, almost transcendental effect and you suddenly understand how the energy of the universe falls together.
This is an essential piece for your library of self-discovery and you will find yourself returning to it again and again.
At the beginning of the book, the author has you ask yourself what your energy drains were and what would happen if you didn't change anything. Then, what would happen if you did change your energy level? Each chapter was broken down into small, manageable changes (or shifts). I am overall happy with my energy levels, but I could definitely come up with a few areas in my life that could use more of my energy. I think the shifts suggested in this book will definitely help me direct my energy in the right direction! Not all of the shifts may be applicable to me, but even just making a few of the changes should yield results.
The tone of the book is very conversational, I felt like I was having a conversation with a wise friend. I liked the anecdotes throughout the book where the author had made changes in her own life. The book is a quick read, I finished it in a sitting. I think it will make a great reference, something I can read quickly again if I need a reminder on the small shifts I can make in my life!
Ms. Rao’s special talent is to get to the essence of a problem and present a variety of methods to resolve it, giving the readers the ability to choose whichever methods best suit them.
In The Energy Shift she presents 17 ways to address lack of energy and associated malaise that aren’t tied to actual physical illness. These start with the basics of course – diet and life style choices – but quickly move on to doing the self-examination necessary to get at behavior and thinking patterns and other core issues that can manifest in our lives masked as fatigue and lack of motivation. As she says – dig deep, and then deeeeper, for the answers.
Another plus is that she does this in a compact 100 pages or so. Thus, you have time to read it all, then re-read and target the self-limiting patterns you recognize in yourself, and implement the methods that resonate with you.
As she periodically reminds us, little changes, done consistently, add up to remarkable life transformations. And they do!
The Energy Shift came at the perfect time in my life and was just the advice I needed. Ritu has written a book that even someone like me, who struggles with energy and motivation, could find applicable. It has stuck with me since I finished it.
The Energy Shift is not only inspirational, but a truly motivating and useful book. It's short and concise, very easy to read, and I think it will capture the mind of anyone (young or old) willing to pick it up. Honestly, my only qualms with this book is that I would love for it to be longer! I definitely recommend it.

Ritu’s book distills the vague term of “energy” down into practical daily tips, that really do help you to increase your daily energy.
Pick this book up if you are looking to make a change for the better.
