Squealing and more excitement continued on throughout the entirety of the book.
Then I got to the end. These were my thoughts…
“What?! It’s over?! I can’t handle these cliffhangers!!! I need more and I need it now. I don’t care if I sound like a toddler throwing a tantrum. My heart can’t keep doing this. Please tell me there is more coming. I either need a part 2 for Cole and Dylan in Dylan’s POV or a 2nd book about one of the other club members. VanCleave would be preferable, then maybe Martinez.”
These are my requests. Now for my review…
I LOVED IT!!!!!
Side note while posting the review…This is book 2?! What is book 1?! Where is book 1?!
I really like this biker gang too. The guys are ex military guys who are not really back into our normal society. So they have grouped up together. They have their own code and it's partly to keep the really bad gang's out of their area the gang has claimed. It really is in part the best part of the story line. I liked that Adrenalin story was not just about being saved by Dylan's love but he maintains a real life for his character.
The author makes Adrenalin's character believable and real for the listener. I think all of us women want to find a hot guy we can save like him.
I recommend listening to this book. I will by listening to it again!
The narrator: Gideon Welles has this sexy voice that I could listen to all day again and again. I hope to find more of his audio books!
I received this book free in exchange for a honest review.
I read Overhaul and loved it and Enforcer was another great read. Cole's a complicated man, one who doesn't care about his life until he finds something worth living for. He needs a woman as strong as he is, and he's met his match with Dylan. Their relationship is fairly low angst, and this book is more about Cole's personal struggle and growth than the development of their relationship. The plot kept me hooked. I was surprised at the ending, and can't wait for the next one!
Gideon Welles is a great choice to narrate this one, his gravelly growl of a voice fits Cole perfectly. His female voices were light and consistent. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
The characters are well developed and the writing flows smoothly. The main characters are the club Enforcer, Cole and an emergency nurse, Dylan. He is former military and his job it to bring anyone breaking the club rules back into line. He's a bit of a loner even among the brotherhood, until he meets nurse Dylan after meeting a knife in his last line of duty.
Dylan, who gives us a cute story of how she got her name, has run into a dry spell and finds herself intrigued by Cole. She soon finds herself involved in more than a few nights of fun, with a man that is very dangerous. The last thing either of them plan is to fall in love. I enjoyed the romance as it began to flow and build, Cole finds himself questioning his future while Dylan realizes that he has to be true to himself.
Now for the not so good ... the ending. I had really enjoyed the dynamic between Cole and Dylan, the club members, their interactions with each other and the outside world and the promise of action in defending their turf. The clubhouse is attacked and ... it ends. OK, I do understand this is a series but most readers are a little put off and some do not return to read anything else by the author because of these kinds of endings. I think when this happens readers miss out on some really good reads. I like to give a second chance so I will be looking for more by this author and keep my fingers crossed that it ends better.

This story moves a bit quicker than what I’m used to, but not too fast. I loved getting into Coles mind and hearing how he thinks.Read more
