This author!!! She is one of those authors you have on your favorites list, you want to reread everything you've already read by her and then you read a new one and you swear thats it..Shes off the faves list and your done! She destroys me with every book I read of hers..I can just imagine her sitting there when she gets to the end and with an evil laugh saying “yep that should do it” and she would be right!!
I loved this book, it has me all messed up because of how it played out but knowing the next is sitting there waiting for me makes this somewhat ok. I don't know how many of her books I've read, but with each one they just keep getting better. There was a lot happening in this story and I don't have it all figured out yet but I know that Isaac is absolutely everything I love about a dominant alpha male in the books I read. The FBI is investigating him and I'm thinking he knows this but how his story is written he really doesn't care..There's a lot more to him than meets the eye and a lot more to his story than us as readers are aware of. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Isabelle (Izzy), although the double life she is living had me screaming at her, knowing she was in trouble if she didn't fix it, she just wouldn't listen, and I'm not sure how she plans to fix everything, or which way she will choose to lean in this mess I just know I can't wait to find out.
I think among the people in this book Harlow and Hugo are absolutely two of my favorites, and I hope there is much much more for Harlow and Cormack in the coming books!
I am not saying anymore, except you have to read this book, and just anything this author puts out..She is awesome and her books just flow and her storylines are amazing.
Isaac Holt is the very definition of an enigma, which is something or someone that is difficult to understand. He is dangerous, mysterious, handsome, and brilliant. Isabelle or Izzy fell at his feet the first time she met him. Literally fell right at his feet. From that first meeting between Isabelle and Isaac, the chemistry between the two is off the charts. However, Isabelle cannot have for a magnitude of reasons. However, she can’t stay away either. They were not meant to be together, but sometimes life has other plans. The author points out that life is not all black and white. There is a bunch of gray that not many pays attention to.
I really liked this book. At times, Isabelle is awkward and hilarious, but she has a good heart. I love her back story and her strength. She finds herself in a position that is uncomfortable for her, but she does the best she can for someone in her position. Isaac is not one to fall in love. His interactions with woman are for pleasure only. However, we see more of Isaac’s personality come through as the book goes on towards the end. I love the chemistry between Isaac and Isabelle, and I cannot wait to see what is going to happen next for these two characters.
Shandi Boyes writes a well written story that kept me engaged throughout the entire story, and left me wanting more. If you are wanting a new series to read, Isabelle’s and Isaac’s story is a great one to pick!
Author: Shandi Boyes
Enigma: A person or thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand.
Isaac Holt is Enigma personified. Shandi Boyes has written a very good book about two people who are drawn to one another but are destined to NOT be together. This is not your every day love story.
In the authors own words, Not everything is black and white. There is a whole heap of gray that no one pays any attention to.
Author warning: this book contains open door sex scenes, adult references, swear words and adult scenes. This book is only recommended for readers who are 18 +.
Now for my review. OMGee. All I can say is AMAZING! The sexual tension between Isaac and Isabelle is palpabale. You can feel the tension just begging to be released. This book is full of mystery. It will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what next.
Isabelle is in a very delicate predicament. She desires Isaac with everything in her yet she cannot have him. Morally and ethically he is off limits.
Such a great beginning to a series that I am sure will prove to be well worth the read. Looking forward to even more from Shandi Boyes.
Isaac Holt is a multi millionaire businessman who made his first million before he turned 20.
In the airport Izzy runs into Isaac giving herself a bump on the head and knocking her on her butt. They have an immediate, strong connection as Isaac helps her up and tends to her bump. She leaves to catch her flight and when she falls right at the feet of Isaac again. They end up being seat mates and he helps distract her as she is scared of flying.
The plane lands and they agree to Meet Saturday night.
She goes off to meet her Uncles friend who is going to take her to her new office. She has a file for her and she opens it, to find out they are investigating none other than Isaac. They want to see how he made his millions, see what his ties are to the mafia are and to underground fighting.
Isabelle's first assignment is to get close to Isaac and see what she discovers. Can she keep her personal and professional feelings separate? This is a hot series that is funny and drags you in from the start! It is a cliffhanger, but I can't wait to read the next story!
