I just received the “eagle book” today. I am in awe. Each page is so, so rich. Each chapter is a separate adventure and a love story. By someone who has been around the birds all his life and knows what he is taliking about. I'm buying three more copies for Christmas gifts. And by the way, it is very well written.

I truly enjoyed reading this book. Its 496 pages offer a unique collection of photographs, artwork, and writings by author David Ellis and nearly 50 others with special knowledge of the Golden Eagle. The list includes well known researchers, falconers, and naturalists from wherever Golden Eagles are found around the world. Reading their stories, I most certainly came away with a deeper understanding of the Golden Eagle: their temperament, intelligence, and capabilities as predator. And I gained new respect for those who study Golden Eagles in the wild as well as those who train them for falconry. David Ellis has done both over the course of his long life and professional career as ornithologist. David shares many great stories of his time with Golden Eagles. Others share theirs as well. David is to be commended for taking on the herculean task of pulling together all of this information into one volume: beautiful artwork, wonderful photographs, and inspiring and informative writings.

I have just printed out and read (a couple of times, actually) the first chapter of David's "Enter the Realm of the Golden Eagle" Book. "Fantastic" would be selling it way short - superb paintings, pictures, drawings, and text. I have read quite a few books in my many years - very few contained prose of the quality in David's Book. "Congratulations" & "Well Done". Everyone needs to read and enjoy this one.

I doubt that there are many who have put in the hours and years of focus and dedication to what is clearly an over-riding passion for Eagles. It shows in this book which provides a fantastic tour of their realm. Get it, Absorb it, Display it prominently - you will not be disappointed.

For those of you asking why I only talk of an exert rather than the entire work - I am waiting until next week (27 September, 2013) when I can procure an autographed & annotated copy directly from Mr. Ellis. He plans to be in Denver - I'm sure you would be more than welcome to stop by, share a conversation with him and depart with your own special copy of, dare I say it again, a fantastic work.

Regards,
Ken Snyder
