Mind you, I rated one star not for the show itself, but for this DVD and the few others that were released. These DVDs are missing a few minutes, often the teasers before the theme song comes on. This particular DVD is region 2, so buyer beware. I don't understand the need for regions, and was only able to play it on my computer (and it was also missing a few minutes of the episodes due to bad editing). Why is Amazon.com selling DVDs that weren't even designed to play on US DVD players?

I am also befuddled at the lack of a complete season or series set of this wonderful series. It would be so awesome if a series boxed set was released, with each and every minute of the show accounted for, and the Ask Jackie bits as well. I'm not sure why the quality of these DVDs are so poor, or why only a few were ever released.

I have owned the Jackie Chan DVD series for years. I am always on the lookout for releases of more episodes because this is a high-quality series. I watched this when it was on TV (even before I had kids). Now that I have my own daughter (named Jade!), I share it with her. She gets bored of Dora, SBSP, etc, but never tires watching "Jackie Chan Adventures". It's wholesome, family entertainment that exposes children to the beautiful Asian culture, which is not often available.

I highly recommend this DVD!

Jackie Chan grew up wishing to be the star in a cartoon and then this came into being. Savor the Jackie Chan humor and martial art stunts in this fantasy where Jackie, his niece Jade, and their uncle named "Uncle" race against the forces of evil to thwart various magical foes' plots that threaten their cartoon world. (Each season has its own villain. Season 1 is Shendu and the "Dark Hand" crime ring.)

This show is one of my favorites. The humor is great, the action is great, and the story is great. If you get a chance to watch this on television, do so. However, I have two gripes with this amazon on-demand product:

1) technically, the first season is only 13 episodes long HOWEVER three episodes which aired in season 2 belong in season 1.
SNAKE HUNT from season 2 actually takes place before ENTER THE VIPER in season 1. (snake hunt shows how the snake talisman ends up in the museum in the first place which is how enter the viper begins)
THROUGH THE RABBIT HOLE from season 2 needs to be watched after SHELL GAME from season 1. (Jade takes the newly acquired rabbit talisman to school in hopes of showing off)
THE WARRIOR INCARNATE from season 2 should be watched after THE ROCK from season 1 (They use the rat talisman to bring a statue to life)

missing these episodes doesn't cause the first season to fall apart, but they are certainly out of place at the end of season 2

2) the quality of these episodes (judging solely on the free preview that is provided) is atrocious. blocky artifacts, aliasing...pitiful. this would kind of take away from the show because i would be distracted by the bad quality while watching the show. they need to redo these encodings and give this show some more justice.

Loved the show when it was on TV, still love it. Kinda annoyed that season one isn't available as a DVD set (well, it seems that it *was*, but the one vendor I found selling it has a set that is only for region 2 and has the hilarious price of $3500), but that doesn't make the streaming option any less welcome.

Someone has to say it, but it is much less impressive to see an animated character do the stunts that you see Jackie Chan doing in his movies. Just because real world Jackie Chan does things that seem like they could only be done by a CGI character doesn’t mean that it is just as cool to see an animated character do the things that Mr Chan does.

Despite this minor point, Jackie Chan Adventures is an excellent cartoon. It is child friendly and is suitable for mindless entertainment for those of us that are young at heart.

I really enjoyed the sections at the end of each show where Mr Chan answered a question from a viewer. I’m certain these are all made up by writers and will have less appeal over time, but it is nice to see Mr Chan try to be a role model for his viewers.

Hopefully, Mr Chan will make lots of money off of these shows as time goes by. He has done far too many dangerous stunts over the years and he probably needs the revenue stream to pay his medical bills!

I would like to see more seasons of Jackie Chan Adventures. The DVD of the first season is great, but I would like to see more.

Thanks.
