For those of us growing up in the golden age of movie rentals, nothing really encapsulates the "Direct to Video" era quite like Empire pictures. After watching each film and checking out some of the bonus features I can confidently say that this set was put together with love and care. Arrow in recent years has had some quality control issues, but thankfully this was exempt from those QC issues. Easily one of my favorite boxsets of the year.

Loyal servant of the Empire...pictures
For those of us growing up in the golden age of movie rentals, nothing really encapsulates the "Direct to Video" era quite like Empire pictures. After watching each film and checking out some of the bonus features I can confidently say that this set was put together with love and care. Arrow in recent years has had some quality control issues, but thankfully this was exempt from those QC issues. Easily one of my favorite boxsets of the year.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2025As a movie collector I have been eying this for a while and when Amazon put it on sale I snatched it up. I originally bought only for RobotJox and Arena. It had been years since watching DungeonMaster, Cellular Dweller, and Dolls and now this is my favorite box set.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2024This isn’t the big collectors box, this is the value one that just has the movies and it’s perfect. I’m a collector and already have so many box sets that it was nice to get this value set. Saves me space and I can still add all the movies to my collection. I’m got this for Dolls and Robot Jox. You won’t be disappointed!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2023Arrow Video are the kings of home video releases! This boxset contains on of my favorite childhood films, Robot Jox. And let me tell you guys Arrow never cheaps out on content and quality, this collection is LOADED with special features and physical goodies. And one of the best parts is they used the film negatives, mostly. So happy with this set. Arrow Video hit it out of the park yet again!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2023I only wanted this for Stuart Gordon's Dolls. I was initially annoyed I had to get it in a set till I saw it was 5 Arrow releases for $60. That's already half the price of the Scream factory release so to get that and 4 more films is an excellent deal for me.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2023I’ve never seen any of the movies. I’m a fan of some of Charles Bands movies. I found myself enjoying the ones I didn’t think I would. Give it a try you might be surprised like I am.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2023Love the retro box set of low budget movies from my past, growing up watching as a young man, wow’ time surely goes by. Thank you Amazon for shipping this to me without any damage
- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2025I was a little disappointed and I may send it back because it was not the addition with the booklet and the slip as advertised I thought man what a great deal with the slip in the booklet but it's a reduced edition

Ralph GethingsReviewed in Canada on March 8, 20253.0 out of 5 stars Budget scaled down release at full price!
Very disappointed that this isn't the full size release. It's the budget release, which explains why they don't offer any other images other than the cover. So the budget is scaled down in overall content, limited to the 5 movies in slim cases. Not sure why Arrow would even release this. The movies are great throwbacks to my youth, but the overall price for a budget package ($110) is incredibly steep. So buyer beware. No book, all slim cases, not nearly as impressive as the original box set. Description should read budget release at full price!
