About the Author

Bronislava Volková is a Czech American poet. She has published six volumes of Czech poetry, one volume of selected poems in Czech and one in English (Courage of the Rainbow, Sheep Meadow Press, N.Y., 1993) as well as three bilingual volumes (Czech-English). She is also an author of A Feminist's Semiotic Odyssey through Czech Literature (Edwin Mellen Press, 1997) and other scholarly works. She currently teaches Czech and Comparative Literature at Indiana University, Bloomignton, IN.
