I love Greg Atkinson's writing style and his approach to food. Simple, innovative and comforting. His prose and life anecdotes are wonderful.
The recipes range from simple to sophisticated, but are eminently doable.
The stories that accompany each menu really set the scene.

I really like Greg Atkinson's writing, as well as his recipes. I own this, plus West Coast Cooking and In Season, and thoroughly enjoy reading his prefaces to each menu or recipe. You get a feel for his personality and home life as well as his love for fresh food, which makes it all the more appealing.

It is unfortunate when people use this review process to downgrade a book's rating because of something that has nothing to do with the content of the book.
