I use this with a light for my 65" tv. The effect works really well and makes everything on the TV more immersive. I just put the output of my HDMI receiver into the sync box and the sync box out to my TV so I didn't have to change anything around or use multiple inputs. The silly part is that this needs the Hue bridge to work. I get if someone has a bunch of other Hue lights in their home, then a bridge is more useful, but I only want the lighting effect behind my TV. There should be an option to simply plug the light strip into the sync box and have it work that way. The app could then connect directly to the sync box via wifi or bluetooth. Also, the whole package is more expensive than it really should be for what you end up with.
But overall, I'm satisfied. People complaining it doesn't work with their smart tv's built in apps are wacky. I'm not sure how they ever expected it could work that way. It obviously needs an HDMI input so it can read the colors in the video signal.

The ambiance this little box creates is pronominal! With that being said, do your research! This product works perfectly with certain TVs like HDR 10 but not HDR 10+. In the right setting, the right TV and the right amount of Hue lights (4+ in the room), the Hue Play HDMI Sync box performs well and will transform your living room into a theatrical piece of art.

OJO, no funciona con Apps en la tele, ni la tv por si misma. tienen que usar alguna consola o reproductor, en mi Xbox one X no funcionan las luces con Netflix, pero si con spotify, Amazon y Youtube, quiero pensar que es por las restricciones de la aplicación.
Edit (12/2020). Si funciona las apps dentro de las consolas, tarda en hacer sync, cusndo lo hace fluye excelente.
La interacción es natural y su aspecto hace que cambie mucho, es un buen accesorio que mejora la experiencia.
Mi configuración es: TV Samsung 2018 58" 4K, Xbox One X, 2 barras de luz Phillips y 1 Hue go. Para mi es excelente.

Lo estuve esperando cerca de un año y la espera valió la pena. El precio elevado pero justo. La sincronización la noto mejor que con la PC que es la que usaba antes. Es necesario el Hue Bridge y al menos dos focos o tiras de color. La experiencia que da este aparato con los focos es excepcional. Actualización: Estuve teniendo problemas al jugar PS4, se desconectaba cada 5 minutos y era muy molesto. Revisando los foros de Reddit, encontré que se debe desactivar el DHCP en las opciones y usar los puertos 2 o 4 del dispositivo ya que son los que tienen más ancho de banda. He estado jugando 5 horas sin ninguna desconexión.
