The old adage of two wrongs don’t make a right definitely seems appropriate for Laurie’s situation, but the benefits of her decision have never felt so good and yet so bad all at the same time.
Liam Parker’s offer was too enticing for Laurie to turn down, but when that one decision ends up complicating her life even further, can Laurie suppress her wild side and settle back into her old life or will her newly released inhibitions set her life spiraling out of control when more secrets and lies are exposed?
Entice is an emotional journey filled with betrayal, irreversible decisions, and an abundance of feelings. Nothing is easy in Laurie Baker’s world, and even though it started due to someone else’s actions, her choices only advance the complications and lead her down a path that she never thought she would travel. It’s a messy situation that Laurie finds herself in and there are pros and cons to any decision she would make. S. Layne presents Laurie’s situation in a way that readers can’t help but be sympathetic to even if they don’t agree with how she handles things.
Everything is up in the air at the end of book 1, and based on the number of revelations that have rocked Laurie to her core, it’s hard to say how it’s all going to play out for her and the men in her life. But one thing is for sure, if Liam’s still in the mix, it’s going to be epically climatic!

4.5 poison apples
I felt so much empathy for Laurie when she discovers her husband's betrayal (been there, done that, have the t-shirt) and so when she meets Mr. Tall Dark and Hotter than Hell while away at a conference, her life is turned upside down and her depression from feeling "less than worthy or desired" is briefly lifted.
This book has so many secrets, lies, betrayals and emotionally devastating scenes that I was constantly on my toes and flipping those pages as fast as I could. I love this author's style of writing, because as she gets into her character's thoughts and hearts, she also touches on some very universal feelings as well and creates flawed people who are believable and relatable. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
***** 4.5 ***** "a woman on the edge holding on for her life" stars
I have read the second and final book "Embrace" and probably it is why my feelings about this book are all over the place.
Wow! I don't like to give spoilers so I will just try my best to give my honesty review
This first book is all about Laurie going through her feelings trying to overcome a cheating husband. She meets Lyan and have an affair just to find out he is pretty much a liar.
I don't like Laurie at all! Just because in my opinion she doesn't have any self steam! Unfortunately I have seen her story happen so many times in real life!
This is a book that reflects what so many women have gone through in their lives.
This book contain so many truths is not a joke BUT make me feel sad that we women always blame ourselves when something goes wrong in a relationship.
Even though she is like so many of us with the blaming game she is just not strong enough to hold on her own. She is just so needy of male attention! grrrrrr
Well... lots of conflicting feelings for me but do I blame her for her decisions? NO!
This 2 books series is just too conflicting in comparison to my expectations. Just because I would not be like her if I was in that situation doesn't mean I don't understand her but still I get disappointed about her behaviour.
Probably because I am getting used to reading books with strong women who stand their ground and love themselves in the end.
By the end of this book you will not really know what is going to happen in the second and final book but it is worth reading it!
It just remind us "erotica readers" that sometimes the reality is much different than what we would like to see happening in our books.
For some of you the final outcome from the second book may be exactly what you would have done if you were in that situation but I just love myself too much or maybe can't trust enough!
Her name is Laurie.
She has it all.
An amazing job.
A beautiful home.
Married to her high school sweetheart James.
The love they have in indestructible.
But in the blink of an eye, life for Laurie will no longer be the same.
Hushed spoken words.
A conversation that she was never meant to hear tears her world apart.
They have ripped Laurie to pieces.
Laurie needs time out.
She needs to sort out her life.
She needs to get away.
Leaving everything behind she once thought was her life, Laurie goes away for a week for two reasons.
And to work out what she's going to do.
Laurie has decisions to make.
She needs time to think.
She needs time to process everything.
But staying at a hotel she never once bargained for what was coming her way.
So begins the story of Laurie and Liam.
Just to feel anything other than pain and hurt.
But what happens when one night becomes two?
What happens when Laurie discovers who Liam really is?
Will this be the final straw for Laurie?
Will she yet again shatter into a million pieces?
Or will desire, need and attraction win?
What does he want from Laurie?
Why is he drawn to her?
What are his secrets?
Will he destroy her?
Your just going to have to read Entice to find out.
A brilliant read full of emotion.Read more ›
