I admit that I did become emotional when it came to Lucien, because it was sad, but I don't know something was missing.
OH, and I like how the author introduced new characters, meaning that there will be more in the series (I probably won't read anymore after Ramon's story).
And one last thing...Ms. Buchanan, I know that you are from the UK, but if you are going to write a book that is based in the states, please, please, please, do your research and make sure that you are using the correct grammar. We call one another, not "ring" them, and it's pajamas, not pyjamas. Also, we have a period after salutations (Ms. Smith).
Overall I enjoyed reading this book, and I look forward to reading Ramon's story.
Lucien is a man devoted to his family who has suffered physical and emotional scars while doing something heroic. His girlfriend at the time leaves him but not before crushing him by making it about his physical scars. It doesn't help that he has been impotent since the incident and has decided to live a solitary life but is that really living? Enter Sabrina and his libido finally resurfaces but his emotional scars make it impossible for him to trust her.
Sabrina is a woman in love. She has always been drawn to Lucien as he is to her. Agreeing to a physical relationship only gives her some connection to him but it's not enough and she begins to suffer emotionally. Sabrina is no shrinking violet and walks away to protect herself. A surprise has both her and Lucien trying to form a relationship but his trust issues mean that he continually hurts Sabrina by walking away from situations instead of discussing them. Of course his friendship with Lily makes Sabrina jealous and eventually everything comes to a head.
The McKenzie brothers step in as always and support both Lucien and Sabrina in different ways. Eventually these two get there HEA but only when Lucien can overcome his past and fully trust Sabrina.
This was a great book and I cannot wait until Ramon's story!
Lucien is a man with demons in his past, caused by a fire. Hershey himself off from the world. He existed, but never fully lived his life until Sabrina came along. This book tore apart my heart. I don't think that I have ever experienced so much emotion from a story before.
Thank you Ms Buchanan for such a beautiful, touching novel.
