About the Author
Darren is just like you. He started out afraid, nervous, and without a clue on what to do or what to expect as an entrepreneur. He had no experience, training, or guidance. He did it mostly wrong, which is how he figured out how to do it right. His life has been a living laboratory of trial, error, failure, and success. Darren wrote this book to help save you lots of unnecessary pain and to significantly accelerate your success--by helping you do it right the first time!
Through his first ''real'' business, Darren was earning a six-figure annual income at age nineteen. Five years later, he was a self-made millionaire, and by twenty-seven, he had a business generating over $50 million in revenue.
For the past two decades, Darren has been a business leader in the success and human achievement industry. Today he is the visionary force behind SUCCESS magazine as its Publisher, giving him unique and unprecedented access to interview, study, and draw out the insights of the most successful achievers on the planet, including people like Richard Branson, Martha Stewart, Steve Jobs, Warren Buffett, Donald Trump, Anne Sweeney, Howard Schultz, Jeff Bezos, and many, many more. This has allowed him to uncover their unique secrets to success, which he now shares to empower entrepreneurs around the world.
Darren also mentors many of today's high-performing CEOs, advises large corporations, and sits on the board of several companies and nonprofit organizations. He is a New York Times best-selling author, media contributor, and highly sought-after keynote speaker.
Darren's mission for this book and supporting resources is to ''onboard'' and empower 10 million new entrepreneurs globally.

My 3 main takeaways are
First, he works harder than everyone else, and then realizes that he is not getting as much Accomplished as people worth $100x more than him who seem to work less. Why is that?
Second, The higher up you go, you are not compensated for doing, you are compensated for thinking, and taking the right actions and getting the right people to do the right work.
We can either be our worst nightmare, or biggest stumbling block to our own success. What an insight. Darrren goes into more detail about this idea.
Third and most importantly, entrepreneurs need to fail forward. Failure is part of the process or journey to success.
Listen first, then read the book.

I wish I would've had this instruction 10 years ago when I started my business. Some of this might be validation which is always good to read but I found there were well over three things in this book that were actionable for me -- and that's worth a lot. Note read a good book 10 times instead of reading 10 books. This is one of those books that's worth reading more than once and practicing daily.
It was not what I need or was expecting. I need guidance on how to wisely bring on more staff for my startup small business. Sales staff, office staff, book keeping, appointment setters, etc. I need real help to make good decisions. This book is more of a conversational piece for people who want to become entrepreneurs but are not taking the plunge.
