sooo fresh and sooooo DELICIOUS!!!!! Love using my handheld Nutmeg Grater and grate the nutmeg directly into my coffee in the morning and into my Smoothies... I haven't used it in anything else yet, but just smelling it's delicious aroma and freshness is almost therapeutic.. seriously though, I'm impressed by how really nice this Nutmeg is and extremely glad that it's ORGANIC.. as I'm really trying to incorporate good wholesome organic (non-GMO) foods into my diet and eliminating all processed foods, as much as possible... this is a winner and glad I gave this a try!!!
I bought these along with nutmeg graters for myself and for my three children. I’ve had a nutmeg grater for forty years and it just broke. They were thrilled with the gift not only for the nostalgia but also because of the usefulness. I bought this nutmeg and it is terrific! Nice and fresh...smells and tastes great! I put a nut inside each of the graters. Big hit!
These babies were far fresher than the whole nutmegs i bought from the Whole Foods bulk bin. In fact there was a world of difference! The taste is superb and the smell is extra pungent. Despite only getting about 6 in a tiny jar, its soo worth it, i will buy again. They were very easy to shave by hand and were not hard as rocks.
Pods are undersized and some do not appear "ripe". Not as advertised and can only assume that the positive reviews were posted by those who have not ever used whole nutmeg. Would not buy again -- very disappointed.
Exactly what I was looking for for less than a grocery store near me. I used to buy Badia brand at Publix (I've moved since) that is far less expensive so if Badia is available near you, save some money and get that (they are bagged spices, often near Mexican/Latin aisle).
