- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2015I needed this textbook for my epidemiology class and while I don't normally enjoy reading through textbooks, this one was actually quite pleasing. I liked looking at all the figures & tables incorporated throughout the text. It's well organized and well written. It was first daunting to see how thick it was, but was actually an easy read compared to some other textbooks I've came across.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2020Personally, I love renting books that have side notes and highlighting in it. It helps see what other students or people have read from the book and thought was important. For that, I really enjoyed studying through this literature. Also, this book is amazing. Easy to read and super informative. If you're a student in Epi, read the book and you will get an A.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2018After picking up this book for my master's epidemiology course, I realized how much I actually enjoy the field. I really enjoy the content and I find it very enjoyable to read.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2019I am in an online program and the book is a good supplement to the class, just wish there was a way to get all the answers to the chapter review questions.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2020Great shape for a used book. Arrived fast and looks exactly as described!!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2015Designed for health professional, researcher or student. In-depth presentation, charts, figures, and examples. Explains statistical formulas: history, when/why use and how to perform.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2014It was an ok overall view of Epidemiology. But I highly recommend taking a refresher statistics course if your Epi class is using this book because having a basic understanding of how statistics works in research is really beneficial. It also helps to understand what different studies are conducted and for what purpose that method of study was chosen for a particular disease/problem. My last statistics course was in 2006 and I hardly remembered anything and this book did not help. It doesn't give clear definitions on key terminology. Regardless I ended up Taking a Withdraw pass on the course and am taking a stats class this up coming semester.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2014Love the textbook on Kindle. Easy to search for areas that cover specific topics. You need a big handheld, or computer to be able to read it though. Don't try it on your phone, you'll get a killer headache.
