This show is awesome and if you don't enjoy it, I'm quite certain Malcom Tucker has a great statement to make to you! Of course, be sure to watch with adults only, not made for children or the faint of heart.

As usual, the BBC manages to do what American television cannot. The Thick of It achieves the depth of storytelling, and character development, that shows like The West Wing lack. A cast of characters that is at times clever, infuriating, hilarious, and completely human in their reactions. I have to admit to being completely biased because of Peter Capaldi's involvement. Malcolm Tucker is the perfect post-modern antihero.

Remembering that this was filmed in the 00's it makes lots of sense. And such a coherent storyline through to the end.

This is the fourth installation of the slyly scabrous Brit TV series "In the Thick of It" I think I bought this on the day it was released. Ever have an author that you love and see their new book and just buy it without thinking? That's the way it was for me when I saw it for sale. I just bought it and watched it all the way straight through. If you are even reading this you must love the characters, even love them when "Malcolm" is not on screen.
The supporting characters continue to shine and there is gradual improvement in the four seasons in the writing for the whole crew. Olly and Glenn have especially grown. The Peter and Stuart sections (they alternate) are a little slower but improved over season three. Happily there is closed captioning because the brogue is fast and profane and you don't want to miss a syllable. Especially Jamie.Going into the 'meaning of it all' and searching for how it tells a story referable to real life misses the point, which is the massive ludicrous banality of most political activity. Sure they 'run the country' in a small sense (at least these ones do it in a small sense ) but they are just people doing jobs however fecklessly and have more than their share of fear and power hunger done up warts and neuroses and all. Pol Potty Mouth indeed.
It hails from the "Veep" people but that show while well worth the effort, doesn't have a Malcolm character, the incomparable Peter Capaldi. Malcolm is my hero. I guess that makes me a twit but a twit that laughs a lot. Enjoy.
N.B. "In the Loop" is not to be missed.

Macolm Tucker is as diabolical as ever. Nicola has risen to leadership despite herself but how long can she stay there with friends like Malcolm? Hilarious as always. Every member of the cast is stellar. Sad to see the show come to an end.

And this is Malcolm at his finest. Not for those who can't handle adult language, but definitely for those who love the magnificent Peter Capaldi.

I don't want to say goodbye to Malcolm and the gang. Anyone who enjoys HBO "Veep" should check this out.
