This ink came in the epson box, but my Epson 1430 would not recognize it, no matter what I tried to fix it, i.e. wipe off the chip with an eraser and with alcohol, restarted the printer, etc. but then I noticed a bit of corrosion on the ink chip, and then noticed that it does not say epson like the rest of the ink cartridges i have (see photo)......it's full of ink, but not working.
Note: went to staples today to buy new ink to replace this as my printer won't work without all colors. the ink from Staples had epson written on it and worked fine. I will write the company to see if they provide satisfaction with this. I'm very upset. SEE PHOTO!

I use Epson printers whenever I need the highest quality photo work. I've owned a few in the past. For best results I stick to Epson ink. Who would know best how to 'load' their own printers for best results? If you print on an Epson, and use their ink, you have eliminated the printer as a source of any graphic or color problems. BTW, even my oldest prints, 20 or more years old, show no evidence of fading. I strongly support the use of Epson ink!

I paid more for this cartridge than I had been paying for cartridges I bought in sets of 6 because these were labeled high-capacity and the others had no such description. When I opened the package, I discovered zero difference between this higher priced cartridge and the others I had been buying on Amazon.com as genuine Epson cartridges.

I put the new cartridge in when the old one ran out and got an error message that the printer did not recognize the ink cartridge!! Not happy. What a pain to have to waste time trying to get it to work. Went throught the process several times and still not working.

Something is wrong here. Arrived late and I desperately needed it, as you cannot print when any of the Epson cartridges is empty. I went ahead an installed, but my Epson Stylus Photo RX580 will not recognize the cartridge. Outside appearances are good. Functional work is not possible.

Off to OfficeMax for a real one.

This is some of the most vivid, long lasting ink I have used. I found out the hard way that it does not pay to use generic ink. Epson has some of the best printers and ink quality on the market. You will not be disappointed.

I have a large format Epson photo printer that I regularly use for proof runs of photographic work. While the end results have always been satisfactory, the so called high capacity cartridges have been a disappointment. Even with infrequent printing a large amount of ink is utilized to keep the nozzles primed/clean so you can expect to be replacing this expensive ink on a regular basis. I have tried bulk systems as an alternative but found the results to be significantly below my standards for photographic use in terms of print quality.

Epson has you in a corner with the ink. I have the Epson Stylus Photo 1400. It's the last of three of this same printer I've had. When you replace all six ink cartridges you have bought the printer again, as far as cost goes. If you start out using one of the cheaper non Epson inks to ink all 6 colors, I guess you would do fine, but you can NOT add in cheaper, knock off ink cartridges as you use up your existing Epson Brand cartridges because you will end up with ink running off your photo paper......... I never run out of all 6 ink cartridges at the same time and can't bring myself to pull out expensive ink cartridges to start all over again and see how well the less expensive knock off cartridges work........ I'm stuck. If the ink was not so expensive I'd not have any issue. Works perfectly and everything I print looks great.
