Just as with Ayn Rand's "Anthem", Mr Costello's "Equal" vividly portrays precisely how dismal, empty, and meaningless life would be in a strictly planned society. It shows our current world, taken to the next level of governmental control, and how equality does nothing more than erase freedom, destroy prosperity, and drag everyone down to the same dismal level of existence.
Equality or freedom. I'll take freedom any day.
I liked the concept and idea, would loved to have seen the author flesh out his vision for an equal society more deeply.
