I really wanted to like this because we live in Florida and between the muggy heat and the rain a thinner easier to dry carrier would be great. However, it is so thin it offers no support for you or baby. It seems a lot smaller than my original carrier or my performance carrier. It barely holds my (admittedly tall) 9 month old, there is no way it would hold my two or three year old, something the other versions of the Ergo do perfectly well. I HATE the mesh shoulder pad lining. It rubs the skin on my shoulders raw within 40 minutes or so.
I know there was a back and forth between some reviewers about the chest buckle, so here's my two cents: It has to be higher than the original. I have no problem with the chest buckle with my other two ergos (original and performance) but even when I adjust everything that can possibly be adjusted the chest strap on this version is uncomfortably high.
Long story short, am returning this and sticking with my original.
Love my ergo!!! I actually had 2, gave one to my sister because I felt she needed one and decided I needed a 2nd one for myself and got this one. Lol! I love how compact this one is compared to the original. If you love the canvas feeling material from the original and want to keep that feel than don't get this, this is sleek and smooth material....more like a poncho. I enjoy both the materials.
This was/is perfect! We've tried other carriers...actually a lot of other carriers... And they never quite fit or there was so much fabric to deal with... Or our baby hated them or my back did. But this carrier has been wonderful right out of the box! Our baby loves it... My back loves it.. It adjusts for multiply wearers... And at 22 pounds and as walking one year old...he HAPPILY rides in it saving my arms from carrying him...I can wear it comfortably for hours and he'll even sleep in it. We love it!!!
I use this carrier daily and love it. It's so easy to put on and take off, and it's great that it packs down to carry. My 4 month old is just starting to fit without the newborn insert, but we have used it with the insert since he was born. It gets pretty warm with the insert, but without it has good air circulation and is still secure. I prefer this over my Moby wrap when I'm out running errands.
I have an original and this travel Ergo. I am short (but not petite) and love this carrier! I prefer this one to my original because it is easy to pack along. Just last week I carried my 30-pound 3-year-old in it on a 4-mile hike and then all around Badlands National Park. I felt it was just as comfortable as doing the same with my original carrier.
The best baby carrier available. I used a moby wrap for my first-born and was very happy with it, although I wasn't able to carry my son in it for long because because he quickly grew heavy and I frequently had to re-adjust/tighten it. The ERGO carrier appears more comfortable for baby and parent, and I am certain I will be able to carry my second baby in it for longer.
It was very very uncomfortable. I used it for about thirty minutes in the airport ad thankfully brought my other ergo carrier and had to switch. It hurt my back terribly and seemed to be shorter in the torso area for baby and the hood for baby was way way to big. Even on the smallest snap.
