Blog post“Fuck it, I’m going in,” I said, dropping trou on the shore and splashing into the sea. Orion’s belt reflected off the small waves, and the water was so clear we could see the scalloped sand underneath our feet. The ocean was bracing but not freezing, and the moon was nearly full. Joseph and Micah looked at each other but hardly hesitated to strip and follow me in, and the three of us — hairy Colorado sea bears — painfully pale and naked in the moonlight, dove into the ocean, laughing and whoop2 years ago Read more

Blog postWe’d had ourselves another epic road trip; the snacks, the singing, the laughing, the requisite rest stops. We’d survived the rolling, wide open plains of Wyoming and the brushfire that was just crossing the highway as we drove through it. We’d watched the sun set three or four times over various western mountains as we sidled into Helena, MT for steak dinner perfection (cooked up by my sister) and an ice cold Manhattan (stirred, not shaken, by my brother-in-law). Blog postI’m on a plane, flying over the Western Slope of Colorado on a classic, hazy summer day, light and airy clouds playing under the wing like wispy dolphins, the high sun baking the tan expanses of farmland and prairie below us. One of my closest friends is getting married tomorrow morning at City Hall in San Francisco, and I’m excited to be with him as he takes this next big step in his life. “I can slow down time? Is that what you’re saying?”
“Yes, Sarah. That’s what I’m saying. You’re the child of a Clock. You carry your mother’s abilities.”
Sarah Tuesday, her father, and little brother Rex are a team of thieves, swiping artifacts from museums, and returning them to the countries they came from. But when their father is taken from them, Sarah and Rex go on the run from the Council of Clocks and their powerful Chrona guards.
In the midst of it all, Sarah will have to learn to create and control bubbles of shifted time. Unrest within the Council of Clocks, as well as the emergence of the Digitals, an underground faction that has begun to fight back against the Clocks’ domination, will make her job that much more difficult.
This is the first 13th Clock novel, but Sarah’s adventures began in The 3rd Caper and Sarah Tuesday on the Run.

Since 2004, Eric Elkins, a.k.a. The Dating Dad, has been writing a monthly column about the joys and humiliations of being a single father and dating after divorce at DatingDad.com.
It started as something Eric did only for himself — capturing his thoughts and experiences as a way to process the disorientation, the adventures, the humiliating errors and frustrations he encountered while navigating a landscape rife with the obstacles, potholes, mountains to climb, and vistas he never could have imagined.
In other words, The Dating Dad is a journey of honest, open, sometimes funny and sometimes sad stories about the sweetness, disasters, and surprises that Eric has encountered while trying to raise his precocious daughter, rebuild his life, and maybe find someone to love along the way.
This book is a collection of favorites from over the years.
