"Enlightenment Now: The Case for Reason, Science, Humanism, and Progress"
Is the world really falling apart? Is the ideal of progress obsolete? German Village, at Dugway in Utah, was designed and built as a practice field to find the most efficient way to create a firebomb in order to destroy the maximum number of workers' houses, and kill the maximum number of German civilians, in the Allied firebombing campaign.
Mendelsohn, who got his training and opportunities from Germany -- Berlin and Munich -- played a major role in the deliberate destruction of those cities and over 150 more German cities.
Mendelsohn was a genius in his own mind. Zevi devotes an entire chapter to the ways that the rest of the world failed to recognize M's creative gifts -- maybe the rest of the world of architecture had a better informed view of the M than did the arrogant M and the (thankfully, few) sycophants who surrounded him.
When Americans -- and Germans -- can finally stand up to zionist homicidal maniacs and call them for what they are, it will be recognized that Mendelsohn was a monster, not a genius.
The Fire: The Bombing of Germany, 1940-1945 Read Jorg Friedrich's detailing of how Allies destroyed German worker's homes; Germany's ancient churches, monuments dating from 15th century, and as many as 600,000 German civilians, women & children mostly. Mendelsohn helped plan and execute this carnage.
Architects are supposed to build, not destroy. If Mendelsohn exhibited any creative genius, it was a genius of destruction.
