For the love of everything awesome in the world, you need to read this book!!! Don't tell my husband, but I'm going to pack my bags and move to the reality that Liam Stone lives in. He is seriously off the charts bossy-hot! Yes, I just made the word up but it fits him so I'm adding that to my Jen dictionary. Escaping Reality is panty-melting hot, with a huge dose of angst and turmoil. I loved every second of it. If I wasn't feeling Amy's pain and grief, I was caught up in her connection to Liam. There wasn't a moment where I wasn't captivated by their story. And their love scenes... Holy moly! Get the fire extinguisher ready! I look for a few things when I'm reviewing a book. Did it keep me up past bedtime? Did I have a physical reaction to the story? Do I want to shout from the rooftops about how good it is? Escaping Reality hit all those for me! It took me an hour after finishing the book to calm myself down enough to be able to sleep.

Amy Benson is alone. Even in a room full of people. She is running from something we really don't know, and the mystery keeps you guessing. She makes an emergency move to another state and meets Liam in the process. He immediately inserts himself into her new life, leaving Amy with mixed emotions and decisions to make. Does she let herself feel something real or does she protect herself, and Liam, by denying herself what she's never had - a connection with another person that goes beyond lies and secrets.

Liam Stone is bossy, mysterious, and sex-on-a-stick. His charisma jumps off the page and makes you want to do naughty things to him. You're probably going to need a cold shower at some point during this book because he will light you up like it's the 4th of July. But, Liam just isn't sex-on-a-stick.

I hate cliffhangers. With a serious passion. And had I known this was one I would NOT have bought it!!!

BUT, I have to say I'm glad I read it, and I will be eagerly awaiting the next book! The mystery and twists & turns this book takes are absolutely fabulous. I can't wait to read the next one and see if my guess is right. Now to just speed time or jump into the future and read that book. AH!

IMO, this book is 2 parts sex and 1 part mystery. I could actually use way less sex in my reading (so if you read this and have suggestions for me, I would love them!). I was nervous it was taking a 50 Shades of Grey turn there for a bit, but turned out much milder than that. ;) But the mystery part? Oh that completely hooked me in. You're wondering who is Amy? What happened in her past? Who is Liam? Can she trust him? Can she trust a.n.y.o.n.e. around her?

Liam.... oh Liam. If you like a man that takes charge, gets easily jealous, and drags his woman around cave-man style ( <cough> I do <cough> ) then you will love Liam. If you hate a dominate man then you may want to skip this one. ;) Although I have to say, if you love a strong independent leading female then you'd love Amy... and how she handles Mr.Over-bearing. (It almost hurts to call him that, I love him so).

So if you hate cliffhangers, then wait until the next one(s) is(are) out and then snatch those books up quick. I'm hoping that next book will be worth the wait!

I have to say that Lisa hit another home run with Escaping Reality. If there is one thing that she is good at it's keeping your reader steamed up with hot sex and suspense that has you guessing at every turn. Just when you think you know what is going to happen next to Amy you are surprised and the story goes in another direction.

Lara has been in hiding for a long time. For the past 6 years everything has appeared to be okay. She's been Amy for a long time and has allowed herself to believe that she has been forgotten and there is no more danger. Amy has a job at a museum and is happy and content in her new life. That is until one night at a party a note of the mirror from a man she's only met once turns her entire world upside-down and sends her back on the run. She has no reason to fear her handler, he saved her once. So with only the items he has instructed her to take from a locker in the airport she leaves New York to head for Denver with her new name Amy Benson.

There waiting in the airport she spots a man who makes her forget everything around her and ends up sitting next to him on the plane. His name, Liam Stone. Liam is a billionaire architect prodigy who goes after what he wants and doesn't stop until he gets it. In the short flight, Amy feels a growing attachment to Liam, an attachment that frightens her and makes her want to run the other way. But when they exit the airport Liam finds her and escorts her to her new apartment sweeping her up into a passionate affair that makes her forget everything but him. She tries to run away from him because she doesn't want whoever is following her to kill Liam. They've killed everyone she has ever loved, leaving her with on one to rely on but her handler and herself.

This review and more can be found on my blog, The Library Canary: [...]

***I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. This has in no way changed my opinion of the book. The review below is my open and honest opinion.***

This is why New Adult gets a bad rap. And this is why I avoid it. *sigh* This is how this book went: Girl running from unknown threat. Girl meets billionaire guy on the plane to her new location. Of course she is instantly attracted to him. He is a controlling domineering freak-show that disrespects her every other minute. But she feels such a “strong” connection to him that she can’t leave. They bang. A lot. And of course the sex is mind-blowing every single time. They have known each other for two days, but are already madly in love and talking about their future children.

Oh, you want to know what she’s running from? I have no f***ing clue. We never find out. The plot of this book was sex, sex, and more sex. There was one scene in particular that made me so f***ing angry. Liam, the billionaire, was being a total d*** and Amy still had sex with him. Still wanted to be with him. I wanted to reach into this book and slap her across her stupid idiotic face. She made women look completely helpless and it completely enraged me.

As if the nonexistent plot wasn’t bad enough, all the characters sucked too. Amy was bland, boring, timid, and pretty freaking stupid. She knows she is in danger yet she trusts this random f***ing guy she meets on a plane. Seems logical. Liam is just your cookie cutter billionaire with a haunted past and a mean temper. He was basically Christian Grey with a slightly less disturbing past. The ending is a cliffhanger but you know what?
