The Escoda Series 1468 Prado Travel Brushes are made from a custom blend of distinctively patterned synthetic fibers containing all the attributes of natural sable hair. A perfect choice for the professional or seasoned watercolor artist, this brush retains its perfect point after much use and has top notch color retention & spring. Escoda brushes continue to be made by hand by the Escoda family as they were since 1933. This is a size 4 pointed round brush with a silver bristles measuring 2. 82mm and 16mm in diameter and has brush extender handle that also acts as a cap to covers the bristles for transport.

Great Travel Brush And A Good Size If You Can Only Have One

This is a great brush! It allows me to paint on the go with a brush with the hair protected by a cap that doubles as a handle. The bristles allow smooth, clean strokes and lines that I can vary in width by how my pressure I use on the brush. I think a size 6 is a good choice if I can only have one brush with me so it's the one I keep in my tote bag with a travel set of pan watercolors and a small pad of watercolor or multi-media paper for those impromptu art moments while out and about.

A lot of travel pan watercolor sets have brushes that are so small, which is good when painting small areas, and better than no brush at all, but they're limited in how much I can do with them. The size 6 is a perfect brush to accompany them or to use alone if you don't have a small brush that came in your set.

I'm very happy with this brush and the high quality of it. I definitely want to buy a few more sizes to take along with me too.

Great brush! This is my first Escoda. This is so versatile that I can paint both details and wide space.

Too bad it came without any sort of protection on head of the brush, plastic tube to cover the bristles. Fortunately, brush has only slight bend that doesn’t decline the quality. But concerned about it for next time.

I rarely order brushes via Amazon (yes, they did indeed ship like that...) but I banked on them shipping in their closed/travel position and they came just fine. They sent good points but Escoda does well anyways so I wasn't too concerned. The brushes themselves have big handles, at first I thought I recieved the wrong size. The large diameter help protect the brush heads from catching a hair upon capping. I was pleasantly surprised to find each cap had a hole to release accidental trapped moisture. The brush handles feel slightly unbalanced so it will take me some adjustment. Overall, brushes are a 4.5/5 and the shipping was expected, so just be mindful.

I paint as I travel around the world and these travel Escoda brushes are excellent. The bristles last a good long time and they hold a nice amount of pigment. The way the brush comes apart and fits into the handle is very snug and makes it excellent for travel and for carrying out in the field. This number 6 brush is a good all around size. I also carry several other sizes out in the field, but this is the one I end up painting with the most, and so I carry two of them, in case, for some reason one of them gets lost or damaged.

As a watercolor newbie, I've been experimenting with many round brushes from various brands like Princeton and Silver Black Velvet. This Escoda round brush in size 8 is probably the best one I've bought so far. The bristles are so soft and yet comes to a very fine point for detail work. It holds a lot of water despite its size. It's one of the smaller size 8 brushes I have. I have some Rosemary and Co brushes on the way so we'll see how this competes with those, but I think I'm in love with this Escoda brush. May buy more as they're also reasonably priced for the quality!

The paintbrush holds a lot of paint, has nice snap to the bristles, and is great for thin or thick lines. Once collapsed it will easily fit into a small watercolor palette, or into a pocket. I purchased it specifically for travel, but I’ve found that I like it so much that I am using it at home very regularly.
