Looks great and it's a good price. It didn't come with screws to install it, but that isn't a huge problem. You will receive the bell piece wrapped up next to the main frame of it. There will be the rope and inner piece separate. To hook up, there is a hook screwed into the main frame.... unscrew that.... put the inner piece on the hook. Then insert the hook back up through the bell (there's a hole) and screw into the frame. I was a bit puzzled at first about how to put this together.

We are using this as a dinner bell for my son's playhouse, which is part of our swing set. We've been trying to "upgrade" the swing set playhouse so it has some of the fun features of the plastic playhouses that you can buy. We also added a mailbox and window box for flowers. It's very loud... should be fun, glad the playhouse is outdoors. Ha.

I have been trying for one year to find an appropriate doorbell for my home. I did not want to have to get an electrician to wire in one, or buy one of the wireless one. I have had a couple and was never very satisfied with their performance. Since I live in the country, and I have a small cottage, I wanted something that would blend in. I love my bell. It came quickly, it was easy to assemble, and mount on the house. It is perfect. I did have screws the perfect color and size, so mounting it was no problem. I would suggest the supplier include mounting screws, to make it easier on people that don't do a lot of DIY projects, and would need to go out just to purchase a couple of screws. I enjoy my bell so much, I even ring it just for fun when passing it.

Bought for my parents home as they are on some acreage. I thought it would be good to signal dinner when they have people out by the barn etc. It's not good for that. The bell isn't very loud and makes more of a clanking than a ringing sound. Most of this is dues the the smallish size of the bell, which was my fault.

I would look for an old school bell/church bell in the 9inch or larger diameter size or a big triangle if you want to use it for the same purpose as me. That said, it does look nice and would be fine as a decorative bell. I did have all the pieces and they were easy to assemble. Product is cheap cast iron, but looked like it would last a long time. I liked the rust color as well; one less thing to worry about.

Returned and got a larger vintage school bell more suited to my purposes.

My kids and I love to ring this little ornate bell! There are a couple of things I do not like about it though. 1) The mounting screws were not included in the package so make sure to buy some! And 2) the bell part itself, when tightened, sits crooked. And it's obviously crooked too! (Otherwise I wouldn't have said anything)
It's still really cute and rings loud enough. It's pretty heavy too. Overall we still like it. The manufacturer just needs to work on getting the bell centered with the base and they also need to go ahead and provide the matching screws. If it weren't for those things I'd give it 5 stars! But until then...

It seems like the ring will be loud enough (and not too high pitched that it's painful). It is very cute and easy to hang up once you find screws to drill in. Overall, I think it was a good purchase. We hung it up inside the screened in porch so hopefully will be somewhat weather protected. Great price.
