Amazon.com Review
Lucky for us, Andy Mangels has pored over all the movies and the collateral novels, comics, and computer games to put together this illustrated guide to the major and minor characters of the Star Wars universe. As would be expected, many pages are lavished on the likes of Vader and Solo, but bit players like Salacious Crumb (Jabba's cackling monkey-lizard pet) and Lobot (Cloud City's cyborg majordomo) aren't forgotten. An impressive survey in both depth and breadth, this guide fills in the gaps on some of Star Wars' most well-known personalities (who knew Luke's nickname was "Wormy"?) while revealing characters you may have never heard of (like Han and Leia's twin kids!). --Paul Hughes

This is a book for most to all Star Wars fans (although looking fo it in your library databases before ordering it might not be a bad idea). My biggest regret about the book is the shape the cover is in rather than anything inside, and even that can be remedied with proper treatment.
Several things in this book I pointed out to people who couldn't nor believe what or why these things happened in SW this book explains a few.
Example.
When and where Luke and Vader first fought, and where??
When Leia first pick up a lightsaber.
Ben telling Luke about choosing to face Vader he will do it alone.
Darth Vader's original planet he called home and it was not the lava world either.
How Boba felt discovered who Luke Skywalker was, and it wasn't on Luke's home world.
Luke Skywalker's wife.
All this and then some are answered in this book. This book you can take and make your own objections with, but for me it was a blast from the past to read the original cannon before it was it almost it not all erased out of existence.
Before George Lucas ruined his own vision with Jar Jar Binks and a whiny Anakin Skywalker.
True star wars doctrine ...

when the magic and hopes were so strong because all there was was the innocence of greatly loved and appreciated original trilogy(pre-special edition), the early years of dark horse comics, the much loved and praised Thrawn novel trilogy was still fresh.
A time when the sky seemed the limit in great in Star Wars story telling. When we all thought that the upcoming prequels would resemble the quality of filmmaking that would eventually become the Lord Of The Rings trilogy filmmaking. We had not yet had our hearts broken and hopes and dreams dashed by Jake Skywalker drinking milk from a sea cow.
A book from a simpler time.
