He makes the ebooks available at very significant discount on a rotating basis. Subscribing to his email newsletter brings you photography tips, and a heads up when a discounted book becomes available. I find this method has good points and bad points.
Good points: Very affordable, can acquire just the subjects of interest, not an overwhelming amount of information at one time. Easy to read.
Bad points: Every book has 30 to 35% taken up with an off subject 15% lead in, and 20% lead out. After 20 books the novelty of this has worn off.
The series of 20+ books (minus the boiler plate and perhaps edited a little) would make good chapters in a single very respectable textbook on photography. Certainly worth your time to read. If in a hurry to learn about a specific subject and can't wait for the rotation, it's likely worth your money too.
Ali Julia review
by learning the basics of good photography. I am a rather accomplished photographer and this book
taught me a lot about posing models and making better more salable pics. I especially liked his advice
to keep on shooting experimenting to find that "money shot".
The reviewer is the author of the new Kindle book entitled: Sex Education for Adults Secrets To Amazing
Sex and Happily Ever After Too
For the beginner, who just received their first DSLR camera and who wants to really learn how to have fantastic shots using the settings, not just the green auto box, these books are perfect. Dan starts at a basic level and walks through the theory and the how to so you know not only what you are doing, but why you are doing it.
A key to taking good steady shots is a stable foundation (how you place your feet). These books give the photographer a steady foundation of knowledge and know how on which to build beautiful photography.
Well, it really is more than a posing guide. Dan, the author, goes much more in depth than a simple book of poses. He dives into the who-what-why-whens of posing, and makes it fairly simple for most folks to understand. I admit, I would like to have had more poses shown (and update, Dan?) but overall, I am very pleases. My girlfriend is trying her hand with portraiture, and this book has already helped her figure out more than I could EVER explain!!
Dan's other books are equally well written, and helpful. Sure, the are no substitute for schooling, but, sometimes you just gotta get your hands dirty. And this is the way to do it!
