As someone who has taught stats for social sciences for 20 years, I found this book refreshing. It effectively separates conceptual development from application in a way that builds students' confidence in how well they understand the basic ideas before they do homework. It also gives students and instructors clear guidelines about what students will need to know before they tackle a new chapter, which helps students avoid falling behind. The exercises are thoughtful as well. This is the best stats text I've used so far.

My professor is highly recommended in our school by other students. She has her doctrine degree and makes teaching very fun for students to learn. With over a hundred students in our class, Students asked questions regarding certain steps in some of the formulas where the book doesn't thoroughly explain.

Purchased this book for my psych 5 stats class. First of all found several errors with the formulas in the book, which often lead to confusion amongst the students. Also some of the question at the end of the chapter are very confusing, here is an example: there was a question involving the spread of NCAA division II football games, if you don't know anything about gambling or football then it's a difficult question to answer (the instructor couldn't answer, a student had to explain it to her and the class).
Overall the 1st edition is not very good, maybe 2nd edition will be better after they work out the kinks.

This book is incredibly easy to understand and provides excellent examples throughout. I would be struggling in my behaviour stats class without this book!

When the book arrived it had some serious water damage to the pages (warped, stuck together, etc.). Its still usable but in very poor condition.
