Benefits of Humidification
The Sweet Spot
If some sour notes are coming from your piano or guitar, you might be missing something other than musical talent. Some instruments require humidity to retain their proper shape, strength and sound. Utilizing an AIRCARE humidifier and hygrometer, you can maintain the 40 to 60% humidity level recommended to keep the music playing.
Save Energy and Money
Dry air sheds heat easily driving up your heating bill. Releasing moisture into the air via an AIRCARE humidifier can help. By adding water molecules to the air, you help increase your home’s heat retention while allowing you to reduce the temp on your thermostat. Some Department of Energy studies show you can save around 3% on your energy bill for every 1-2 degrees you reduce your thermostat.
For the Love of Dog
Hate suffering from dry skin? So do our four-legged friends. Dry indoor air can cause pet skin to become itchy and flakey, and while scratching may relieve their discomfort, it increases ours by sending hair and dander flying into the air. Show them some love by adding healthy, clean water vapor into the air with an AIRCARE humidifier while trapping airborne dust and dander in our humidifier wicks and filters.
Our innovative pedestal humidifier with stylish surface insert is sure to compliment any decor. Our humidifiers work by adding invisible moisture to your environment by moving dry air through a saturated wick. Maintaining proper humidity levels between 30-50% in your home/office/workplace has been scientifically proven to help prevent the flu and allergies. Proper humidity hydrates your skin, alleviates dry eyes, scratchy throats and can reduce snoring. With a doctor's approval increased humidity can reduce asthma and allergy symptoms. It also protects fine furniture, musical instruments, collectibles and wood floors. Proper humidity makes you feel warmer allowing you to lower your thermostat setting which will save money. Use of a ceiling fan helps distribute moisture output. UPDATE: Been using this humidifier for almost two years now and could not be happier with it. After years of trying out multiple different units, which all resulted in issues with mildew building up, filters being disgusting, and the humidifiers not really doing their job, this one really works. No more waking in the middle of the night with dry coughing and feeling like a lizard with dry skin. This product has dramatically improved our lives. Highly recommended. I take the time to review purchases because I know that I rely on them myself and I like to try to help others make informed decisions. I don't know that there is a better solution out there, but this one doesn't really do much. I gave it 3 stars because this is the desert and, maybe, it's doing the best any humidifier can do here.
It definitely can't accomodate as big of a house as it says it can. We have a 1600 sq ft ranch with a walk-out basement (about 2400 total liveable sq ft) and we are still being shocked downstairs (the unit is upstairs, on the main level of the house). There is some discrepancy in the description for this item, as it lists both 2000 and 2400 sq ft.
I don't understand the setup of this one because the top sits on top of the base, yet the water level comes up higher than the base so as I move it to and from the sink, I feel like water could come pouring out at any moment. Strange design.
I like that the humidity level is clearly displayed on the front of the unit. I also like that an "F" will be displayed when the unit needs to be filled.
What I don't like is that you can't go backwards on a setting. If you decide you want to go back down to 40% humidity after you're at a level higher than that, you have to go all the way up through the settings. Same with the fan speeds. I'm not sure why the higher levels are even needed, as they're extremely loud!
I really don't like how you have to fill the unit up with water. There's an opening on the front of the unit but it's so little that they've supplied an extender to use. There's nowhere to put it when the door is closed though and my first thought was that the part would go missing. Sure enough, we've only had this for a few weeks and I can't find it. I'm guaranteed to spill water on the floor as I fill the unit. No good.
Contrary to some of the reviews from a few years ago, the unit now has a water level line that's visible when you open up the water door. You have to crouch down to see it, but at least it's there.
I'm also not a fan of the fact that there's no tank in this one, like my old one. I have to make multiple trips with a pitcher to and from the unit. Could take 5 minutes to fill, if near empty.
I realize that prices on Amazon can vary but it makes me angry that we paid $150+ and now it's priced at $130. Ugh.
I hope it lasts a while but this is not a model I'll be rushing out to buy after it dies.
