This is the neatest lamp, fully adaptable to my needs and I will be buying a couple for my grand daughters this Christmas. I love all the colors and really wish I could get a dark royal purple, but realize that is probably on me. Please realize that when you first turn it on - after charging it - it will take a few seconds for you to be able to start getting the awesome light show. But once you do - wow, its really nice. Depending on the color you like and choose, the base light is enough light to get safely through a room with no boo-boos.
When you want to turn all the lights off on the lamp, there is a switch on the bottom to do so which is very convenient. There are 3 settings for the top white LED lights, all controlled by very light finger touch. Best of all, where you touch it on, the touch is in the center of the top lamp base where you won't be accidentally changing the intensity of the light all the time. I share my room with 2 birds who like to go to cage and sleep a lot earlier than I do. I am still laptopping (is that a word?) away, writing, emailing, gaming and other things and every other light I have tried either disturbed their sleep, or left me feeling like one of those fabled blind mice.

If you like to read in bed without disturbing your human partner or your felines, the adjustable head on this lamp is perfect. I put this lamp on the arm of my recliner and focus the light on my keyboard and that is where the light _is_. It doesn't bleed out to the rest of the room. I'm very happy with that, and when I hand stitch, it is sew perfect for seeing those itty bitty stitches using the medium setting. The bright setting is truly bright and I've not had occasion to use it yet, but its still early days in the Maine winter, I'm sure I will find a use for it.
For gaming, or reading on the laptop, the base lighting gives a soft glow that I find relaxing and adequate for my needs.
I highly recommend this light. Its extremely lightweight, and well balanced. It doesn't tip over, even sitting on the arm of my recliner. I believe that it would be an excellent addition to someone whose movement is impaired as they can use it without the cord, and also for shut-ins, and people in nursing facilities. The learning curve is very easy and if someone has a roommate they have to worry about disturbing this lamp can allay that.
Go ahead, treat yourself, and someone else to one of these delightful lamps. You won't be sorry. I have bought, oh I'd say 8 different lamps, from clip-on to table top variety and even one that hangs from the ceiling, none of them have made the grade. I'm not someone who is hard to please either. I generally make the best of what I have. But your eyes and your sight are not something you want to compromise on.
I also love that it comes complete with a USB charge cord, but what I find even better is that it has an electrical cord so that it is always charged and ready for where I need it. I use a sewing/embroidery machine and the most difficult part for me now that I can see 60 approaching, is threading the needle. This lamp with the ability to focus the head exactly where you want it, means I can thread the needle on my machine like I could when I was in my youth.

Very handy & bright.
Great lamp. Lightweight, bends easily, takes up a small amount of surface space. It’s fairly rugged. I’ve had mine for four years and haven’t been exactly careful with it. I did lightly step on it once and the base separated. As shown in pics, it clicked right back into place.There are three brightness settings and the highest one is brighter than expected from such a small lamp.Our electricity goes out frequently, living in the mountains. It’s so bright, the lamp will light up our entire kitchen when hung from our pots & pans rack.It is so bright, I’ve used it to brighten part of our pasture to illuminate deer or other wildlife that may be out for a snack.I have also used it at the barn to light up my horse’s stall. Although it’s very bright, somehow it doesn’t hurt your or animal’s eyes, exactly as the description indicates.It is also a handy nightlight. As seen in my video, there are many colors to choose from. The slower you move your hand, the more colors are revealed. Fascinating for kids (and some adults).I have two reasons for not giving it five stars.One: I ordered two and one arrived broken.Two: the battery doesn’t last as long as other small lamps I have had. I keep it plugged in most of the time.Contributing to the battery life, is the sensitivity of the base. It is easy to inadvertently turn the lamp on. This issue is easily solved by remembering to turn the lamp completely off by using the switch underneath the base.
