I have to admit that I was a bit concerned that these lanterns were too good to be true. I wanted non-gas lighting for our upcoming camping trip and these came high,y recommended. So I did my research. Even though I'm very particular about reading reviews, I didn't want my expectations to be unrealistic. Surely these collapsible lanterns couldn't produce the amount of light claimed, right? Wrong! These are little powerhouse lanterns! They are super bright and easily illuminated the entirety of a pitch black bedroom. The fact that you get two lanterns for this price feels like a steal. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. They're not bulky or as tall as a standard gas lantern. I've included a photo next to a roll of paper towels for scale.

Absolute must have, very cheap to buy two off. Small in size but excellent in light. Takes only 3 AA batteries a piece and lights up enough to read or work by. Lightweight and I like the design. My picture is one of these in a darkened room at night with a second picture of just a regular candle so you can see the difference. Photo was taken without flash about 10 feet away and you can see how easy it is to see things etc.

I bought these two lanterns specifically for camping. They are really nice for lighting up an area in the camp. 2 lanterns gave an area of about 15x15ft a nice glow. Not super bright but could definitely see what you were doing and was still able to play beer bong. I had them on for about 18 hours total and they still have battery life in them. Highly recommend these lights. Get more then 2 if its your only light source for camping though.

I wanted to add a bit of an update. I got the Bell & Howell Tac Lantern(Their TV ad is such BS) for Christmas. The Etekcity lantern is far superior in my opinion. It's more sturdy and nicer looking. In fact it feels MUCH higher quality than the B&H lantern and is a bit heavier. I will be buying another sometime in the near future.
Very compact and VERY bright. In a dark room you get caught off guard by how bright this little lamp is. It also appears to be very durable. It's plastic but it's some type of industrial plastic so I don't think dropping the unit will cause much damage.
The lantern came with the batteries needed. Make sure you unscrew the bottom where the batteries are and remove the plastic bit that is placed between the battery and the contacts.
Opening and closing is easy and there is no on or off switch to worry about.
I use this daily when working on or in my truck and I use it every time I get up to go to the bathroom. I simply open it up a bit and set it on the table near my bed so I can find my way back thru the dark hall easier and am not stubbing my toes. I love this thing. I haven't changed the batteries since the purchase.

This is still working great. I love it. Blows the competition away.

The BC Storm easier this year taught me that it's essential to have a good and reliable lamp in case of a power outage like the one we got back in August. So I bought this lamp for $20. One of the best purchase I have this year! Couldn't be happier. Then the BC storm stroked again and we figured that we could have more of these. Since the price went up to $27, I got two LE One together for $25 instead. They surely look identical, parts are even interchangeable and functions identically but man this etekcity one is much much brighter than the LE one. Conclusion: don't waste money on the cheap. And plz etekcity, make it $20 again.

Considered the price it's cheap, only recommed for people who has low budget. But if you go outdoor especially place like backcountry, a good lighting not only let you see in the night but also keep you safe.
Only recommed for secondary lighting.
