Kailah's strange dreams are the beginning of her blossoming immortal powers. She will be a nurse soon and doesn't think she has time to learn more about her powers or the prophecy that says she is the key to ending the war between the immortals and 2 different vampire races. That is until she realizes that her boss is a vampire and it seems that all 3 races want Kailah on their side to destroy the other races. Which of the races want to teach her and which want her just to have the power to destroy the others? Throw in a Hot vampire love interest and jealous ghost ex fiance and you have a book that makes you want more of Candy Crum.
And, this is a great story. from beginning to end it has an enticing sense of twists and turns with a very engrossing style. I really couldnt take my eyes away from it. The interaction bwetween the main character and Aeric should be enough to keep most people interested but there is a bit more to it than that. This is one of those stories that does more than just tell you a story; it tells of the what and the why. The writer has told of what the particular type of magic or ability is, how it is used and why they can use it (the immortals). for people who can appreciate this extra level of care, im sure you are going to love this. it is very inventive.
Lastly, about the title of the review- great writing is great writing- what i mean by this is that this is one of those stories. i dont think it matters if you prefer erotica or romance or horror, it is great writing so im sure you are going to like it no matter what your preference is.

Synopsis from Goodreads
"A young girl (Kailah) discovers that she is from a lost and forgotten powerful Immortal blood line after she meets a strange new physician at work. She begins to have visions and see spirits and has trouble controlling bad things from happening when she is angry. Along the way she discovers the terrible truth about who she is and the incredible power that is locked away deep inside her. Her Immortal ancestors want to use her to destroy the vampire race. Vampires want to use her power to destroy her Immortal ancestors. But hiding in the shadows are those who have been watching her since she was born. They want to help Kailah discover who she is and help her learn to use her abilities. They simply want for her to make the right decision before it's too late. Unfortunately for them time is not on their side and the Rogue Vampires have plans for Kailah no one could have imagined."
I absolutely loved this book. I am a big fan of the genre and always love it when a new look or twist to the traditional is found. I love Kailah, she is a no nonsense gal who does not think she is invincible and is willing to admit when she needs help, but will not shy away from doing all she can to protect those she cares about even if she knows she is putting herself in jeopardy. The supporting characters are fun as well and these are generally a group of folks I would like to know and visit from time to time. I feel the story was well written and fun to read. I laughed and giggled at times and other times shed a little tear or sat on the edge of my seat wanting to know what would happen next. I can honestly say I did not, even once, have that feeling of how much more until the end and just devoured it page by page. The story resolved well and yet leaves the opening for future installments and as this is The Eternal Series #1, I do not feel I am going out on a limb here in believing there is more to come. When I finished this book I had a smile on my face, which is a real biggy for me, and I am eagerly awaiting for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this read to anyone who enjoys the genre and feel you will not be disappointed in this read. I purchased this book and am really glad I took the chance on a new to me author and read.
